    Great buck Ben, congrats.

Man if this were an any weapon contest we'd be tearing it up. The boomstick definetly does help. Way to double up with a buddy.

Just got home from a very eventful day. I found the deer I hit on saturday. He sat out for 3 nights and all that was left was the head and backbone. I have a bunch of pics of him as he was found and when my wife gets home I'll bust out the bow and pose with my head. It's a small 6pt, I looked for him for 3 days in a row! I thought at the end of sunday after tracking for 15 total hours with friends that he had survived then monday I went out and on my hike back I found a shoulder blade! So today I went back to the shoulder blade area and about a 1/4 mile away I found his remains. Proud of this buck! Not so much because of the rack but because I never gave up and eventually found him. Tracked him over 800 yards total. With almost no blood.

Here's some pics. I have yet to score it. Looks to be around the 80's, I don't know. I'll measure it soon. 092.jpg 102.jpg 097.jpg A little embarassed about having to post pics of me and a rotted head of a small 6pt to the contest thread.

You've got nothing to be embarrassed about in my book.

Went out with the muzzleloader on thursday and took my 1st doe! Nowhere near as thrilling as using a bow but it was still fun to use my new muzzleloader with a scope. 001.jpg

Anyone have plans to be out anytime soon? I will be pretty low key in the woods until the semester ends. I will definitely be spending some time in the woods over Christmas break.

Hunting in December will actually not be terrible as it looks right now, still no snow on the ground here.

I may take a week or 2 off to let things settle down after the gun season. I'd like to get some cold weather and snow on the ground to make the bucks move again. I have plenty of food for them on my property.

I had my taxi down to my place for the second gun season and his son killed his first deer on Saturday evening. He shot a nice doe out of my food plot. The neighbor shot a good 8 point with a g2 sticker that I had lots of videos and pics of. So one less buck to chase in the neighborhood.

I just booked a cabin out in western South Dakota in the same area where I got my rifle muley this year. A buddy and I are going out there the 14-17 to try spot and stalk hunting. I have never done this before with the bow, so this will be an exciting new experience.

It will be self guided public land, so I dont have incredible expectations or anything right now. Pretty much if it has horns, it is going to be a shooter. I cant think of a bigger challenge in late December, so being picky isnt an option.

Good luck boof. that sounds like an interesting trip.

Just remember what Elmer Fudd always says "Be vewwy, vewwy qwuiet".
That is if you're old enough to know who Elmer Fudd is. ;-)
