Firearm weekend last weekend was a nice break. I am sure I will be out some after the holiday, but never know how it is going to be immediately after a firearm season. Also, heard a rumor that a guy on the adjacent property shot the big buck in the woods with a gun and couldn't find it. You never like to hear that and it makes you wonder if it is one of the big bucks you were chasing.

Thanks guys I'm happy that I was able to contribute. I do have a question tho, before I submit my score I'm not 100% sure I did it right my buck only has three points (this includes the tip of the main beam) on either side,I took a measurement between the bur and first point, between first and second and then midway between the second and the end of the main beam for a total of three circumference measurements per side is this correct or should there be a fourth measurement somewhere?

Ok I think I measured wrong, looks like I need a fourth measurement so I need to score it again

Yep. I was actually supposed to hunt there tomorrow for the last time but he got a buck this morning and he is not hunting so I am not asking to go by myself. I won't be able to hunt again after tomorrow until next weekend and at that point the rut will be dead to the wind. I am pretty exhausted mentally right now but will keep plugging away. I am going to try my best to get up early tomorrow and get in the woods on my public land spot. I also want to hunt tomorrow afternoon. We shall see how it goes. I have to keep grinding it out and outwork people to get on a buck.

Thanks shadow:) well th pa gun season opens today so the woods will be a bit crazy for a while but ill be heading to my dads cabin at the end of the week to do some hunting in the big woods. I can walk for miles up there and not many guys wander that far so I'm looking forward to it. Also looks like we'll get some snow this week so I'm really exited about that. Keep at it guys hopefully the deer don't go on lock down good luck

With gun season being on and off all of December I'll bet I don't get out much with my bow. But with the very very under utilized January being open for bow I'm gonna try some late season bowhunting this year. Just bought some pack boots and more cold weather hunting gear. The only problem we have around here is the bucks losing their antlers before the season is out here in Ohio.

Shoot one, find some sheds and hold it up to its head while you're taking the trophy photos... :D

I hunt right through gun season with my bow. If I hunted your property with those typemof bucks I would be hunting hard with my bow all December.
