Hey guys sorry I haven't checked in sooner. As some of you may know already my MN trip was a success! It was a great hunt, but I'll keep the details for when the video airs in the next couple of weeks. Here's a pic, and once I put a tape on him, I'll post the pics on the contest thread. Keep after them, it's on!

    Beautiful deer Dean, big congrats.

Well the old man is up and moving, all I need now is a shot of geritol and a shower. A little windy this morning but all reports are saying the bucks are moving, let's see what happens.

Saw six bucks between 7am and 9:15 am, had to climb down to take son for his S.A.T test. First buck was a 100 class 8 point, the other five were all spikes and forkers. Going out this evening, I am hopeful the big boys will be trolling for love.)))

Back in stand at 2:15 pm, saw a spike, a doe...........another spike, a 5 point and 1 last doe right at dark. Wind cut right through me. I am on the deer but just no shooter bucks yet. Guess I will try again in the morning.

So my buddy saw a nice big 8 pointer on the property I hunt here at school, he just couldn't get a shot off. Hopefully we'll be able to track him down!

It's been a few days... Sorry guys. Seems to be a little slow around here. I've seen a few doe's and a couple buck's in that 110" range plus some dinks but nothing to get excited about.

Dean - That's a solid buck. Good job!

Well, I had a "heartbreaker" on Sunday morning. I grunted in a 4.5 yr old 8 pt to 15 yds and didn't get a shot. He was quartering to me, and I just won't take that shot. I didn't know if I should cry or puke. It's slowed down here the last few days, but I'm going to keep after them. Good luck fellas!

Doe and bucks may be on lockdown depending on the stage of your rutt guys. Give it a few days and the bucks will be trolling again looking for those doe who have not been bred. I believe the final seek phase of the rutt as I call it is the best. Bucks are will be roaming further and longer "I.E daylight hours" Looking for those last unbred doe. Hang in there, it will happen

Well that sucks when they go down like that. Keep at it, you never know who or what might show up. At least that's what I've been telling myself the last couple days.

So............what do you do when you get home from work an hour before sunset during the week? You setup and shoot about 300 arrows threw your new Bear Method bow and get it setup to hunt)))). Got the Method setup and dialed in guys, figured maybe the new bow may change my luck and bring in the big boys. We shall see this weekend............................

Saw nothing tonight...............I am convinced this property does not hold any resident large bucks. Other than the chocolate rack buck I have not seen anything over a fork size. The farmer stop me tonight and told me I need to put some deer down, holding out for a big buck is not keeping his crops from being torn up((((. The need to put down a good size buck for the competition may have to take a back seat to the need for me to make sure the Farmer is happy.

I need to make sure I keep him happy and secure my hunting privileges for future years, this is the only private property I have to hunt and I do not want to mess with public hunting around here................if it is brown it is down.
