Cold front blowing through right now in WI. been in mid 60-70 degrees and rainy the last few days. Starting tomorrow, looking forward, temps look to be high of 40. Should be an awesome weekend. It's that time of year to start logging in the hours on stand. Good luck everyone this weekend.

    Awsome!

Well Ive had some great evening hunts the past few weeks, could of shot a 100-110" buck on different sits and in fact almost did one evening untill he turned and I seen he was only ear wide. This cold front was the best now if the wind would just lay down for the weekend that would be killer. The leaves are dropping fast!

    Congrats!! Let's see him!

Cold front has set in and I will be in the woods after work and in the morning. Pretty excited about the prospect of putting a buck down this weekend. We will see what the trail cameras have been showning for the past week and hunt accordingly!!

    Go time!!

Awesome Job Dunn, looking forward to the pictures. I'll be out tonight, this will probably be my last time until next week. We have a huge storm rolling up the east coast, I'm looking at 20-40mph winds from monday through thursday. The weather is supposed to break friday with a big cold front. It is looking like a recipe for success.

Congratulations Trav on the birth of your son. You will have many fun years ahead of you bringing him up.
Way to go Dunn! Nice to hear that you got numbero uno. Can't wait to see the pics. Oh, yeah Trav, you could post a few pics of your son too!
I'll have a couple of hunts this weekend. Since it's a managed hunt I'll be trying to tag a doe before I look for the bucks. Will keep you all posted.
Good luck to all this weekend.

Ive had him in cam since he was 2.5... He had a broken ear then so I named him broke ear obviously haha. Rain had quit, got cold and was windy.. Hit the horns together with some grunts and before I got my grunt tube out mouth I looked up and he was standing at 30 yards in timber. Grabbed bow as he walked to 21 yards. Got in my lane quartering to me. Hugged the Bloodrunner right into the lungs. He went about 90 yards.

I had an eventful hunt this morning to say the least.

8:30 a.m. 4 doe to my west and an 8 point buck to my north. 1 doe enters back end of the food plot and the chase was on. 8 pointer chases this mature doe in a circle and back into the west side of the food plot. They continue on to the east and out of the area.

9:00 a.m. I see an 8 pointer walking across a known bedding area - give him a grunt call and he stops dead in his tracks and turns toward me. Grunt a few more times and hook, line and sinker. I drew back - couldn't tell how big he was, he get's to the base of my stand and decide he's not the buck I want. Again a young 8. He heads back in the direction he was going and for fun I hit the grunt call on him again - boom he's coming back in. This time he's spotted 2 doe to my south that I didn't even know were their. He pushes them all over the place.

9:15 a.m. Doe in the food plot licking a branch and scraping at the ground - buck is about 50 yards behind her.

It was a crazy morning in the deer woods. Seen probably 10 to 12 deer total.

Way to go Dunn. Congrats....I also connected in WI last night. Shot an 8pt last night. Definitely not the biggest buck on the property by any means, but still very happy about it. Will post some of the trail cam pics and buck kill to the boards tonight along with story / details. Deer everywhere this wknds.
