Went out yesterday morning. Got to the woods early. Walked into woods farther than planned because I was so early. Climbed up my tree and some dude walks by around 20 yds. I blow at him and shine my light. I'm like "great..." Never saw him or heard another thing until sun came up and I looked behind me....

Doh! This hunt was over. I happened to set up over a scrape dripper that he had been hunting all week. He said he didn't want to give up on his setup. The joys of public land....

Off to Brown County IL for 3 days next weekend. Should be good!

Well I found her. She was laying 80 yards away from where i shot her. She jumped the string so bad that it turned from a broadside shot to a extreme quartering to me shot. she will be nice and tender hahaha.

Congrats BH29. Glad you found her. I will not be hunting until Thursday this week. But when I finish the work day on Thursday, I will be off for the next 11 days. Really looking forward to getting some serious hunting in.

Congrats BH29!! I went out last night and had 7 does come about 50 yds to my left and then a couple little bucks followed about 45 minutes later and during the last 10 minutes had a shooter on the same trail. I called at him and he came charging, got 45 yds from me on the tree line and I couldnt see him anymore because of a tree that still has leaves and I never saw him again. I know he didnt bust me as he was upwind from me and I didnt move at all. Looked like about a 145" 9 or 10

I was able to sneak out last night again and at exactly 5:00 PM I had a real, real nice buck come out of the wood islands (known bedding) in the field, he made his way quickly to about 50 yds to my left and continued on. He also made a big scrape behind my moms stand and a couple of new rubs along the way before leaving the property without giving either of us a shot.

I'm leaving tonight for a 3 day hunt at my uncles property in Brown Co, IL. We've done pretty good in the past down there so I'm pretty excited. AT&T phone service stinks down there so I won't be able to post much. Hopefully I'll have good news when I get back. Anyone else getting out this weekend?

I will be out for a short evening sit tonight then hitting it hard this weekend. Will probably be out all day saturday and probably sunday morning. Then I have four days of work and then five days off. It should be absolutely rocking about then! Good luck, a lot of deer will fall this weekend.
