So I found out tonight, I may have a chance to hunt in Arkansas the end of October. Would it be worth a $100 tag for a 3-day unlimited species hunt, includes 2 buck tags and 4 doe tags? I'm actually going down to see family and my family owns many acres of land there. Thought I could spend some quality time with my cousin. Only problem is that the car is gonna be so packed with other necessities I have NO room to pack home the meat or a trophy buck.....buuutttt I could maybe make some sacrifices ;) hehe

3 Days isnt much time. Especially if you would have to scout and figure out where the deer are moving. However, if somebody in your family who hunts those farms could put you in the right tree and help you out, then I'd say its worth it. Either way, just getting to go on a road trip and see your family will be nice!:tu:

JD ... you did not score your buck correctly .... you have no mass measurements nor do you have inside spread measurements ... you have a lot more points coming, bro......

Thanks Preacher Tony for catching that point total mistake. Now that monster is a MASSIVE 78 3/8s. HAHAHA
So what were at 178 3/8s right? Not to shabby. I didnt relize it was the first buck you shot that counted I thought for some reason it was the biggest. Well at least i was able to contribute to the cause.

C'mon guys, getting a little quiet here... Let's have a little chatter here!!! What is the news? Who is seeing any pre-rut? We have the little boys chasing anything and everything here in Goodhue Co. MN. Had a nice one (120") that stopped 5 yards short of a shooting lane for me stop and turn direction. Might not have been a true shooter in our neighborhood, but I would have looked him over good for sure. Gonna hang a new stand Saturday near a standing cornfield. Think it might be good, they are entering cornfield there so might see a few new bucks to see. Let's hear some news!!

I only hunted 9 hours so far and that was two weeks ago. I didnt see any deer then while on stand. From what I've been hearing, deer are on their feet and moving. Lots of nice deer have been killed in my area already, I believe it has a lot to do with the early crop harvests.

I'll be hunting this weekend! Hopefully something good happens, Im looking to atleast shoot a doe.

Won't get much hunting in after this week is over. Gonna be gone for the next 3 weekends! :/ Probably won't get back out til November. One of the biggest bowhunters in our area met us out in the field combining corna few days ago and just wanted to make sure I knew about the EHD that's going around. He said he has been out everyday since opening day and has seen only 2 deer!! He is afraid most of our population has been wiped out. Supposedly a family found 50 deer dead on their property the other weekend... Doesn't sound good at all!!!
