Alright, I'm in. Assuming that is, that someone is willing to take a weekend warrior, public land hunting noob on their team.

I have hunted the last 5 years on public land. Just have to work harder then the private property hunters but you can get good deer on public ground.

Last year was my first real attempt at big game archery hunting. I got lucky and tagged a button buck (11 hrs in a ground blind over a watering hole without seeing a thing, then scored on the walk back to the car. Go figure). Better to be lucky than good I guess.

Clarify for me. It does not state where to post photos to and #8 makes it unclear. Is it wrong to post both to the team thread and somwhere else? Not sure if we post to one or two or which thread.

There will be and official score card thread once the contest starts. You will post your photos there.

You can post them on your teams thread, but make sure you post them in the score card thread too!

If this whole contest thing still seems a bit fuzzy to anyone, be sure to look up the 2011 contest thread in the archives.

Fitz, Hypothetical situation. If your first deer is a buck and you count his inches for the contest. If you drop a 2nd buck in bow season can it qualify for your doe points?

Alright Mark, I couldn't track anything down. I'm going to go with no. One legally tagged buck, and one legally tagged "antlerless". It may not be fair for guys who don't get the opportunity to take does, but there are plenty of guys who can only take one deer anyways.

Fair enough, just thought I'd ask as I am seeing a lot more bucks than does of late.

contest sounds awesome! I'm pumped for my first year to be participating in it. Random question unrelated to the contest rules; whats the biggest buck taken and by whom during the contest to date?
