Seems like as I draw back my pin settles low then I have to fight it to get it up on target?

I was going to make an ED joke, but won't.

Is it the bow you're fighting or your self? I know sometimes after prolonged practice/shooting with my heaviest bow its a fight of fatigue...

I have the same issue I think. I know for me its a mental thing. Then I tend to force it to the target and punch the trigger. Not good at all. over the years Ive gotten alot better at forcing myself to hold on the target and count to 3 before I start to squeeze the trigger. Its helped me a lot.

It could be target panic. Do a search on the forums for that and you will get some good advice.

It is target panic. What I have done to overcome it is draw, anchor, then bring the pins from the top down. Not from bottom up. Try it and see if it helps. Did for me.

defintely wouldn't call this target panic IMO. As mentioned above, its more of a fatigue/ form issue. As you get tired, naturally your form starts to fail. When shoulder is fatigued from shooting alot, you have a hard time holding the bow where it should be and the body compensates for this my using other muscles. Take a break for afew days. Target panic is bascially punching the trigger or anticipating the shoot which cause poor accuracy.

Its not fatigue, it happens on the 1st short currently or the 20th just the same.

Maybe we should ask a few questions of the OP.
Does this happen with every shot from the first one on or is it after you have been shooting a while?
Do you punch the trigger as soon as your pin hits the spot you want it too?
Do you know for certain tour draw length is correct?
How long have you been shooting?

yeah it was the first shop on with me also. was target panic forsure. for me anyway. I missed 2 big bucks due to buck fever and that carried onto the range after that. I couldn't shoot to save my life. even gave archery up for 2 years. But I missed it so much that I forced myself to get back into it and so glad I did. I still have the issue, and if I go to long without shooting it comes back, but I can control it a lot better these days.

It could be something as simple as peep in the wrong location. Or something like target panic. Your form and or draw length could be the issue as well.

It sounds like your bow is not set up properly. Is the draw length correct? Are you pulling to much poundage? Peep sight in the proper position?

I too think there may be some target panic but am more inclined to think you are holding the bow to tightly and if this is the problem you will fight the bow until you hold your bow a little looser. I shoot my bow with my fingers very lightly upon it and my thumb barely in contact with it. I am not sure but it seems to me you are fighting hand torque.

Also check your release.. If you have to pull a "Country Mile" before the trigger releases, you might want to adjust the sensitivity.. Mine is set on hair trigger.. Meaning when I am ready to shoot, it will go off as soon as the first layer of skin so much as thinks about touching it... When I am on target, and slowly roll my trigger finger off the side...GONE.. There is no waiting dancing around on target with me.. Just a thought. I have fixed other people's target panac just by letting them use my release.. Just try it, and see if it helps..
