Two months from today I'll be headed to Colorado for my week and a half Elk hunt with the old man. How many of you are chasing elk this year? To me going after elk with a bow is hard to beat....I wait all year long for this trip! Good luck to all that are going!

We start august 18th and go tell Sept 14th. I'm real lucky this year I will only miss 5 days of the hunt. I may be bragging a little
What state are you in? That would be nice to hunt all but five days. We are planning on moving back to CO next year after the wife finishes RN school. Hopefully I'll get to elk hunt a lot more when that happens.
Yeah, I can't believe how close its getting! I'm more like 10 weeks out for my elk trip.... But only about 6 weeks for speed goats!!
I got you all beat, even though i have to wait till aug 25th, i only live 45 min. from the elk. That is if the fire's don't burn everything up. It has been hot and dry, but we have been getting afternoon shower's for the last week. It must be bad, a dow officer trapped a bear just 1/2 mile south of town, i imagine with the fire he was looking to escape. Any way good luck to all the guy's coming to colorado, if anyone is coming to the sw part of the state look me up if you need help
I'm pretty close to that The fires have kicked are butt to. We haven't lost near the homes you guys have. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.
I'll be hunting a unit near Vale Sept 14-22nd for my first Elk hunt. Really excited. Our season down here starts July 28th.
Afflicted, better pack alot of long underwear that area can get snowed on pretty heavily in september. Good area to hunt, you will see a lot of big mule deer there also.
