Im suure this question has been asked 1000 times but what software does everyone use for editing film? Are there any good ones that you can download free online for HD cameras? Or are you forced to buy off the shelf?
I'm using iMovie on my iMac for this first year just to play with it since I'm no TV star or anything. It's just for personal pleasure. I've got about 30 minutes finished right now. Should have well over an hour long DVD when I get done. SHould be nice to pop in and watch on a rainy day.
I am using Pinnacle studio. An older version but still works great. I have not heard of any good free software.
I would agree, this is probably your best option for the money...Pinnacle Studio is sufficient for almost any application.
I use Sony Vegas 11. It's perfect for what I need it for.
Great videos "rockinchair" you truely get it... We use Final Cut Pro on MAC for our editing. Still new to the venture, but always learning and looking for the true shot. Keep up the great work! http://www.youtube.com/user/MIKEOBRYAN
The majority of both videos were shot with a Canon 7D. Some of the animal footage in "October" and "November" was shot with a Canon HF S20 though.
pinnacle is great for starting out...thats what i started with, I use Avid Studio Pro now....same company that makes pinnacle, its just the high end version.
