With or without decoys

    Do you seem to have more succes while using decoys or not? Everytime i have decoys out, the turkeys never seem to come in as close as when im not using one.? Any help is appreciated

    I never use to like using them, but since I hunt them mostly with the bow now, the decoy may help bring them into point blank range. A strutting tom works the best for me! Good luck!

    depends on the situation i guess. when im in an open field ill usually use one but if im in the woods i usually dont. And if i notice birds are getting decoy shy i def. quit using them.

    i totally agree, it has to depend on the situation/mood the birds are in, trial and error. the birds will let you know what they like for sure. and the more believable the set up is, the better it looks to them. try and get where they want to be and you have half the battle won already.

    I have killed over 30 turkeys and can count on 1 hand the ones I have killed while using decoys. Now I am a gun hunter and that makes a difference also.

    I don't bowhunt them but when I'm on a field I use them but in the woods normally I don't.

    I use a full strut decoy as well, works pretty good for me
