I bought a new PSE Bow Madness 1 1/2 weeks ago on sunday. took it out and got everything dialed in and decited to talk it hunting last tuesday. while in the stand i drew it back to make sure nothing was in the way and while i had it back at full draw, i heard something crack. I let it down slowly and started to inspect it. What i found was both the upper and lower T shaped braces at the limb pockets were cracked. Any one have any ideas why this happened or what I can do prevent it from happening in the future? It was never dry fired or dropped. I put about 150 arrows through it. Now I am stuck without a bow for 2-3 weeks according to the archery shop, they couldnt say why it happened. Needless to say I am a little agrivated
Sounds like something was flawed. This is a good case for a spare bow. I always have 2 hunting rigs ready to go at a moments notice.
Sounds like something was put together wrong. They has an issue with that area in '09 but was remedied in '10. My 2010 has nearly 10,000 arrows threw it with no problems yet. I wonder if the limb deflections were off. Top or bottom?
This is why I'm hesitant about buying bows from small shops. I would think regular retail would replace it on the spot. I could be wrong and support the local shops all I can, but if I buy something and it breaks less then 30 day I had better have a new one in my hand that same day.
Fortunately I do have a back up. The bow was set at 65# it is a 60-70 bow so the limbs were not maxed out. I agree with buying from a tiger store but I fingered I would give these guys a try. They have been great except I would'vebeen far more happy with a replacement rather than a fix.
I have a 2010 bowmadness that I have had no problems... but that reminds me I need to shoot my backup.
The case for retail stores is moot IMO. If you buy a bow from a good pro shop, they should stand behind it, regardless. I know my local shop would have handed me a new bow (actually this happened a long time ago with a bow I bought from them) on the spot if something like this happened.
I bought the bow on close out, so they did not have another one to trade. Plus I tried MANY bows and really loved that one, however now I will be a bit concerned every time I shoot it
Sorry to hear that, the good thing is, its covered 100% under PSEs warranty. This is why I buy PSE. you cant beat their warranty program. Unfortunate that it had to happen right after it getting it.
