Looking for some new broadheads. Some with a lower, shorter profile that will fly close to field tips up to 50 yards. Suggestions?

If I made the switch today, I'd go to the G5 Montec CS. I know a guy who shoots them well, and I've been a fan of anything I've gotten from G5.

only thing i could think of would maybe be the smaller slick tricks. but correct me if im wrong i think with almost all BH's be fix'd or mechanical you still need to BH tune.

You will have to find out what works best out of your setup but I have tried three fixed heads that flew right with my FPs. They are the Slick Tricks, Montecs, and Muzzys. All solid heads in my opinion. Hope you get it worked out.

    Blessings......Pastorjim

I'll bet if all archers alive today were polled on this Slicktricks would get more then half the votes. I've never known anyone to have to tune or adjust anything to get them to fly exactly like their field points. I shoot them with three bows, I use the same arrows and Slicktricks for all three bows and all three bows shoot them exactly the same. The three bows are not the same model or even the same manufacturer.

Slick Tricks are TINY...I wonder if that is why they fly so well. I have a few that I may try before the season is over. I'm a Muzzy fan myself though.

I bought 9 Slick Trick magnums and 7 flew great the other 2 ducked low and left about 4 inches at 20 yards and failed the spin test terribly. The 7 that were good fly great ! Just another reason to shoot them once before you hunt. I can't wait to turn one lose on a :deer:

I have been using the NAP Crossfire's since they came out. I know Justin said he had issues with them but they have always flown out of all my bows like my field points. The quite marketing the archery model but I think they still make a Crossbow model which is the same from what I can tell.

My slick trick standards fly right with my field points. And I'm completely confident that a 1" cut will get the job done.

Just about any model of fixed BH's will work fine out to whatever yardage you practice. 2 years ago I shot a 3 blade Snuffer. It's a huge BH with an 1 1/2 cutting diameter. This BH shot excellent out of my recurve. I shot out to 60 yards making sure my arrow and bow marriage was set up perfect. My arrows flew absolutely perfect! Any BH should do as long as your set up Is spot on and tuned right.

The hardest animal to pass an arrow through in North America is a 300lb plus male wild hog. There is no other pachyderm in America. Only a bison is as equally difficult. With that said, I have shot thru several big true european wild boar in other countries, but i have also had many go in and not exit.

Here is one that penetrated, he's a nice big hog at least 300lbs.

As you can see the thick skin of these wild hogs is not like any other animal in America. This is not fat, it's thick rubber like skin that is as tough as a 10 ply E rated truck tire.

Exit hole from 125grain Slick trick

This picture was taken seconds after the shot, the hog spun like a top spraying blood and his friend ran about 50 meters and stopped to see his old buddy draining all fluids like a sieve. Again a Slick trick from a 62lb draw Switchback. Blood trails are no issue, four slick trick blades have proven to be far more convincing and dependable then the 2-2" blades mechanicals of any manufacture. Plus they work 100% of the time and are legal in all 50 states!

You have me pretty well sold, I think slick tricks are officially at the top of my list. Hopefully they shoot well out of my bow then I should be in business

for a fixed blade a 1'' standard Slick trick is all you need to get the job done , i've used them for many years , i'm using the Razor Tricks this year anlong with the Grim Reaper Razor Cuts

Have you noticed any flight difference in the razor tricks with the bigger blades?

Lol! Like I said In my other post on this subject you won't see ANY difference If your bow and arrow set up Is In tune with each other. It's not the BH but rather other things that will determine flight problems.

None at all , with a properly built arrow all square and spin tested , and a tuned bow any head that is machined properly will fly spot on with your field points
