Just been workin, shootin, eatin, and sleepin! All the stands are hung (the ones i still have anyways) and im more than happy with all the spots, lots of good sign! Ready for the 1st so I can get out there! Hope everyone is doing good and just as excited to get out there as i am, minus you lucky ones that have already been out there and Dave puttin down the early slickhead.
haha im so excited about going out that i find myself playing hunting games online trying to live the moment!
I just got a bow camera mount for this season defiantly gonna try to get some footage to share with you guys 3 more weeks for me
Ok i just realized i never did this. MY BAD! hahah sorry Christine. So ill do it now. My name is Ryan and I'm a poor college student that only gets to hunt on the weekends. I hunt in the "great" state of New York. Big deer are little to none here because the state has no regulation on antler size for shooting. So basically if its got horns you can shoot it. With this policy in place this has create i high doe to buck ratio and the state doesn't like to give out doe permits. To get a doe permit you have to bit in a lottery type system and maybe you will get a tag and maybe you wont. All my shooting equipment is in my signature and if anyone has questions about that just ask I'm than willing to answer. That's pretty much me nothing to special!
Looking forward it. Let us know how it works for you. I am just getting ready to go take some hero shots of my brother. He was able to shoot his first buck this morning on a youth hunt here in MI. I will post them up in a few.
I'm all set and ready for this coming weekend. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning I'm so dang excited. Oct. 1st....hurry up and get here...
Went out Saturday morning before a family wedding, didn't see a thing, Went out tonight late after work. Set up in my "quick" stand on the edge of a hay/corn/alfalfa field mix. First deer that came out into the hay was a 1.5 year old fork, followed by 7 antlerless (does/fawns), and finally a bachelor group of 4 bucks, three of which were 1.5's and the 4th being a 3.5 year old looking to be around 135". Beautiful buck out past his ears, most likely a 8 or 10 point. They never got closer then about 120 yards throughout the evening. I snook out the opposite way after dark. Pretty successful hunt. 2 sits, 12 deer, 5 bucks and 7 antlerless. I probably wont get back out until this weekend, unless i can squeeze a hunt in Wednesday.
Caleb, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do! Sounds like you had a good first two sits. Keep plugging away at it. Good luck to you this weekend!! Almost OCT 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's getting close now. I got my stuff out of the attic even. Got all my volunteer hours in... still need some tags and new blades for my broadheads tho'. I did go get my trail camera the other day. A branch fell in front of it. But at least it was still there. Couple of not-so-awesome pics.. The very first picture from the camera, deer... and a twig. The classic trailcam deer butt photo. The branch/leaves must have moved around between when it first fell and when I got there. I have a bunch of these. :D Gotta luv it.
I had a branch fall in front of my camera before, filled the card up in the first 23 hrs. Not cool!!!!!
Should have had 50 points tonight boys, 2 does walked by at 15 yards, wouldnt stop for a mouth grunt. Didnt wanna take a walking shot though. Bumped some on the way out and in, hate that. 3 sits, 14 deer, 5 bucks, 9 does.
My cameras have sucked bad this summer. I havent been able to get a solid buck on any of them, until now.........
Nice Michigan buck there BowFreak. That Truthcam35 takes nice pics. I need to put mine out. I don't get to see bucks like that in Michigan very often.
