last nights gator hunt

    It's not bowhunting but it's damn fun! Here are a few gators from last nights hunt on lake griffen. My girlfriend took these with the harpoon and bang stick. One is 7'8'' and one is 8' lakegriffen.jpg

    Now are you going to eat them ?? I ate some gator meat one time but can't remember what it taste like.

    I see you are from Deland. I went there many many years ago to see a friend that went to Stetson. I guess you know that is where Chipper Jones that plays for Atlanta went to school. Welcome to the forum.

    I think its in the handbook for Harvesting Gators. We tape the smaller ones too. The bigger one woke up on the way back to the ramp. We had to cut his spinal cord to put him out. I happened to look down and he was trying to jump ship!

    We do eat them. I prefer it breaded and fried with some wing sauce..taste like chicken that way. We also grind it and eat it as burgers. Going back out tonite to fill a few more tags on Lake Jesup. Bowhunting starts on Saturday need to finish the gator season up and get focused on the whitetail.

    Is that you Mom?LOL!!! Just kidding I live right behind Stetson, My Girlfriend is taking classes there for a second bachelors this time in environmental science.
