So for us guys with more than one elk tag does it have to be the first elk taken like the deer contest?

Good question, Troy. I would assume that would be the case but will go with whatever the majority wants to do... :)

Good luck Ryan... smoke a biggun!

Well Just got back. Hunting was a total bust, rain chased us out. Today was the last day of cow season so i'm taking it as a sign from above that I was meant for a bull. Lots of moisture this year!

Troy, I think we should just use the first bull down. We'll see what everyone else thinks, also.

Well I now have to wait for late season to try again. Spent 5 days hunting hard the lewis unit in western Washington and came up empty..
The Elk wernt really talking and we couldnt get anything to commit to my calling. If you herd me call you would understand why. We did see several cows a 4x4 and and 2 spikes. I also spooked a nice buck. This was my first time bow hunting for elk and I had a great time and got to meet and hunt with an old timer that was camped down the road from us. He had alot of advice for a newbie like myself and I was very greatfull that he shared so feely with me. It well help in future hunts.
Its back to work for me tommorow, good luck for all those still out there.

This, to me... would have made the whole hunt worth it. I LOVE experiencing those moments. :)

Hey Elk Hunters! Just wanted to chime in here quickly and see where you guys are going to put the pictures of your harvested elk this fall? I'm trying to keep our Harvest Database as active as possible this year and I want it to be more than just whitetails.

So, are you guys going to have an Official Scorecard Thread or what? Remember, the more information the better. Your name (preferably your real one) the date you shot your elk, the state, broadhead, score and your bow.

    Thanks!

    Carry on Gents!

Well I'm back in WI with no elk. It was so quit out there you could hear the birds fart. Like always it was fun but it was the worst elk hunt I've ever been on as for animals. not alot moving.

Hey guys. I just scored some points for team 2. Stay tuned for more info, but in the meantime I'm hitting the sack. My first elk and it's a 6x6.

130, Sorry to hear of the misfortune. We are experiencing about the same out here

ArchArrow, enough with the teasing. Pics or it didn't happen! lol

I now have two days left of my regular elk season. Elk sightings are extremely low and nothing is talking. Two years ago they cut the seasons down due to low cow/calf ratios. I believe we are witnessing the draw backs of that this year. No raghorns. So next week I have to get it done or wait until december for out late season archery only hunt.

    Cons so far:
    Freezer almot empty
    Low elk sightings
Haven't drawn back on an elk
    Very little vocalization

    Pros:
    Living in Elk country 24/7/365
Having a late season hunt to look forward too
Hunting back in my old stomping grounds
    HUNTING WITH MY OL'MAN!

Just got in this afternoon. I was the only one in camp out of 5 to tag out. Took a cow. Weather was warm the whole 2 weeks. It was tough hunting to say the least. Very little bugling. I just got lucky and this young cow answered my cow call. I shot her at 16 yards.

Congratulations, justhunt!! She'll taste MIGHTY fine! And I've never seen it truer, than when they say anything with a bow is a trophy. I've sort of scoffed at that notion over the years, but I definitely agree that any ELK with a bow is a trophy!!

ArchArrow123, I can't wait to see your bull! :tu:

Hey guys nothing to add for Team 3...heading home right now. They did kill a bull that we had at 45 yards the first day that presented no shot. Total gross score was 408...I will post a pic in the am when I get home.

Here are the pics and I also started another thread for others that may not check this one
