I am not the most experience bowhunter around and so when starting out i use only the 3 blade muzzy 100grain broad head but after watching and listening to people say how great the the Rage and the Bloodrunners are i kinda want in on it. So i started to do some research on these products and ask people what they think on them. For the Bloodrunner i have heard nothing but good things about them but for the Rage i have heard mixed feelings. I have heard that they get bad penetration and others say that they get pass throughs every time. I'm just posting this up here to get your guys opinions and like i said i am not the most experienced of hunters and this is something i am looking forward to get next year.
    Thanks!!!!

go with the bloodrunner. I saw a guy on tv shoot the rage on a broadside shot and he barely got 1/2 the arrow in. It still killed it but I would shoot the bloodrunner. Ive tried the rage 40ke. I shoot about 52lbs which isnt much, I could pull alot more. But I tested them on a target over 5 times cardboard on the front and back of a target just to see if they open. 1/2 the time they only opened halfway and the other 1/2 they opened. I personally would go with the bloodrunners to because theres no o-rings. My o-rings popped off 95% of the time with those "test" shots. dont get me wrong some people love the rage though. But the bloodrunners will still cut if they dont open...

Never shot the bloodrunners but why would I? I LOVE MY RAGE BROADHEADS!!! I'm not knocking the runners, I just haven't ever had any probs with the rage that would lead me to try something else.

and you get alot of complete pass throughs with the rage i mean i only shoot 55-60lb bow so im worried that with the poundage i shoot i wont get complete pass throughs

I personally like rocky mountain gators which are similar to the two blade rage. But there are no O rings. The blades will collapse when contacting bone then redeploy. They leave a nasty entry and exit wound, good blood trail and my experience has been short retrieves.Bass Pro has now picked them up as they were bought out I think.

I really like my muzzy 100g and think I will just stay with them. They have not failed me yet. I did see a deer that was shot with a rage this weekend and it was pretty impresive.
The arrow did not make it 100% through but did make it out the other side. The thing i have know idea on is how a blood trail works with an arrow still in. Knock on wood but I haveshot muzzy 100g for a lot years and a lot of deer and have had pass throughs on everyone.

got to explain yourself a little more to get me sold on the product

Im leaning more towards the Bloodrunners not because it cuts no matter what i feel like you would get more pas throughs with the bloodrunner shooting a lower poundage bow

I would have stayed with the Muzzys. Nothing against mechanical BHs, I just have never had any problems with fixed BHs. Don't fix it if it ain't broken.

I agree with the "don't fix if it ain't broken" mentality. I changed broadheads two years ago for no good reason, the broadhead I was using I had no problems with. I just bought into the advertising, I have regretted the switch ever since and have changed back. If you switch for no reason other than switching, I've found you will always second guess your choice.

I use the rage now and have had no problems with pass throughs, I have had them on all my deer so far. I order blood runners for this season but they back ordered. I just like trying new things that is why I ordered them.

I shoot bloodrunners because i view them as failproof, if you think about it the cutting diameter would have to be close to you muzzys even if it failed to deploy which it probably will i trust that NAP wouldn't put out a bad product. Just my 2 cents.

Also rember that 3 blades cut more tissue then 2.. yes you loose a little bit of penetration but cut your self 2 times and then cut yourself 3 times... tell me which one bleeds more =]
