Wow Ironranger, terrible story!!! Every year stuff like this happens, tough on everyone Involved.

I'm not sure yet Matt. If I get drawn for a Mn bear tag I'll be taking some time off here In Mn the 1st week of September to do that. Kind of depends on how that goes I guess. Also depends on If I have any problems with my business (milk route) around the time I want to leave. There's always that chance I won't make this trip or any hunting trip I have planned regardless If I have purchased tags or not. There's always that chance of me leaving early too If I have troubles with the milk route also while I'm out there. Honestly I'd like to be out there hunting for at least 10 days so I suppose If I could be there by the 13th or so I'd be happy with that. To early for me to say though.

Not sure when Daryl and I will arrive. Have to wait for some other western draws to know if I'll have more or less vacation time to use. Planning on being there either Tuesday or Wed the 14th or 15th. The more time the better as I remember last time around I had about 8 days to hunt and I was wishing I had another week!!

I'd like to be there by the 15th or 16th, and hunt until the season closes.

Jeff, for a first aid kit I packed... Tums, Aleve, waxed dental floss, a spool of strong nylon thread, a couple "curved" sewing needles, and moleskin. (If I need bandages I'll use a game bag)
A couple other items I packed are, about 1/4 roll of duct tape(smashed flat), parachute cord, H2O purifying tabs, leatherman tool.
I figure I could fix just about anything with that.

Hey guys, I have to respectfully pull out of this hunting trip. Things outside my control have taken shape and have seriously impacted my finances. I wish you all a great time.

Wow, this is a long thread! it has taken me weeks to read it (I dont spend too much time on-line).

Well, Hi everyone! Im new to this forum but not new to bowhunting and I will be coming on this trip, making the British representation up to 3 hunters now.

I like the idea of going after a mule deer, ill be keeping my fingers crossed for that tag!

It looks like it will be a lot of fun! there appear to be some characters coming! Im looking forward to meeting and hunting with you guys!

Sorry to hear Brett, but there's always next year or the year after, and if you can get a travel partner, it can very reasonably be done for under $1000 if you're frugal about your money. I had just over $1100 in last years trip, including paying for ALL the fuel for 3500 miles, my tags, and food.
