So that just made me appreciate the hubby's poka station...lol
Classic rock, easy listening and yes I ran a couple of night clubs during disco .
But give me music with great instrumentals, clear good lyrics and something I can sing along with, good to go. That and blue grass.

Been hitting the gym again and has been getting me more into metal, digging deeper into some older stuff.

P Roach is playing a show at a small club in Chicago next Monday, and we managed to pick up tickets before they sold out, which was less than an hour. Looking forward to that! For old dudes, they are on the top of their game, and their live shows are better than they've ever been. I can't wait.

I've been listening to a lot of Sleep Token lately. It's a very interesting mix of genres and sounds. I'm not quite sure about I feel about it yet, but I can't seem to stop listening.

Saw Godsmack and Staind This past Wednesday. Godsmack kicked it hard for their hometown fans, but Sully was disappointing with the generic audience interactions that he does every single show...the same sh!t..... It's like, bro, you're home, we helped make you back in the day... Staind for me stole the show. I saw them last year but this year they were so much better.

Before he sang this song, Aaron Lewis said its about living with ADHD. Makes quite a bit more sense now and hits harder than ever. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 39 and it answered so many questions, and explained so much like, why I underachieved in school, why I excelled at fast-paced jobs such as the Military, my social awkwardness, and not understanding social cues very well.

Listening to the words explains what its like to live with it every day to a T........

Saw a great show last night! Mudvayne, Coal Chamber, Gwar, Nonpoint, and the Butcher Babies. It was a very small crowd, but the typical metalheads you would expect to see at this kind of show. No pit which was dissapointing, but they didn't open the lawn because of low attendance. Butcher Babies were great and did not dissapoint. Nonpoint was meh...nothing stood out about them. Gwar was....well, Gwar a bunch of 50 year old men dressed up in costumes, a 50 year old guy running around in a speedo covered in whatever they were shooting into the crowd, At least I can say I saw Gwar I guess. Coal Chamber killed it, and we only stayed for a few Mudvayne songs because my wife, her friend, and my son had to work today.

Up next, Thursday 8/3 Volbeat and Halestorm!!!

Mudvayne is one of my all-time favorites. I saw them last year when they played the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee and I forced my fat, old man ass right to the front and screamed my head off the whole time. It was 100% worth it. I love those dudes. They are coming to town this weekend, but I'm going to pass. I don't like big outdoor venues. Just too impersonal, and if I can't get down in the pit with the rest of the sweaty psychos, I'm not going.

Nonpoint has always been okay, but not great. I just saw them with Sevendust last fall and they still sound great, but I've never really been able to connect with their music. Although back in the day, seeing them with Reveille and Darwin's Waiting Room at the HOB in Chicago was a great show. Nu-metal at its peak!

Coal Chamber is one band I've never gotten to see that I wouldn't mind seeing. Their first album was a staple of my high-school music listening. Big Truck is a banger and from what I've seen online, they are crushing it and Dez sounds great.

Gwar is meh. They put on a fun show but I've never liked their music all that much.

My next show is Electric Callboy at HOB Chicago on 9/6 and then Bad Omens on 9/26 in Milwaukee. I'm super pumped for both of those!

Zach Bryan tomorrow and I cannot be more excited. Don’t even care that it’s in a large venue. This dude is a special singer/song writer.
