I'm up for the last day of the season. Only got 25 minutes left. 25 degrees and a strong wind, feels like it's blowing 15 mph. Come on big doe!

That's a wrap for the season. Nothing came out. Think the wind was blowing to hard.

I admire you for getting out the last day Holt. Those dropping temps and stiff winds yesterday were brutal. I would have thought it would put them on their feet feeding. My dad seen a small 8 last evening but no shooters came out.

Yes, my team primarily went to some app that I was not interested in signing on to. Thought it was odd since the conversations can all take place on the team thread here. I may not join a team next year and just share here on LFTS.

You all are better than me. I'm out here hunting ducks. Today's vet day did not disappoint. 5 woodies and I shot a band! 20230204_095904.jpeg

Walked a few miles backtracking a trail this buck came out on. Found heavy buck sign. Maybe a target for next year. Screenshot_20230204_184311_Gallery.jpeg

Almost doubled up with a yote and grey, yote wouldn’t break the wood lot. The grey wasn’t so lucky.

Nice! I will be going out soon for some night hunting. This will be my second year trying for a coyote. That the 350 legend? Plan to use mine this year.

Whats next? Going to try the 22-250? Seems like a popular coyote round.

I love the 22-250 for ground hog. Literally tears them in half. I've never taken a coyote with that round but I sure would love to.

Working on a .450 bushmaster now then a 9mm pistol. That should curb my enthusiasm haha. If I didn’t have a .223 a 22-250 would be sick.

I did a 458 Socom. Not sure why, but it's a wicked round. Definitely has a punch. Reminds me of shooting a 12 gauge slug. I can use it for deer in the county I live, but never have.

I can't afford a new rifle right now for yotes. Soooo, next best thing? Reloading my 30-06 with 110 grain bullets. Plan to ready next year

If you have a AR platform, you can just keep buying complete uppers. Most basic ones are around $300. Just need to add a scope. I have only one lower and 3 different caliber uppers that will fit it. Not a bad system.

I’m loaded up and will be heading back to Arkansas in the morning for another bowhunting trip.

I will be able to hunt tomorrow afternoon but if the weather forecast holds true it’s going to rain all day Wednesday.

After that I have Thursday until whenever I get tired of it and am ready to go home.
