I been picking up more smaller jobs to fill in my downtime instead of relaxing or doing non work related things to help fund a KS 23’ trip. Were you hunting in MO?

Heading in. I'm at the property I sat on Tuesday. This is were I shot at that buck. Going to try and redo that hunt. Usually doesn't work that way, but being late season hopefully there are more deer held up in there. Got the same wind so will do the big loop around the bedding and setup on back side. But this time I'm moving in just a little closer in the bedding and find a tree with alittle better shot options.

I saw a buck with one side shed this week. Haven't found any sheds yet, been looking while I'm scouting. I know other people around me have found a few.

Half way there. Very little wind so very loud walking. Have to go much slower. Luckily I have to walk a property line and people on the private side are cleaning out a building and throwing into a dumpster. A little cover sound. Finding more doe and fawn tracks this time over last time. So may have some new deer home, good sign. Haven't jumped any though.

I'm up! Been set for about 10 minutes. Have something work my way already. Sounds like a deer.

Definitely a deer. I can't see it, but it's less then 40 yards away. Just so thick in there. That's the exact spot those bucks came out of.

No deer seen yet. What ever was in front of me bedded down. The turkey are very vocal tonight. Hearing a hen clucking and about hour ago heard about 30 gobbles.

Getting down to the last week. Still trying to get one last deer for the freezer. And would be nice to get a buck for the contest. Just a off year for me.

Holt, believe me, I've tried it Many times!
Late season is not the time for ANY intrusion in a bedding area.:violin:

Knock yourself trying if you want.

There is a really small fawn in the people's yard I'm working at.
Starving/dieing. Put out some corn for it and it didn't have enuff strength to get up and eat.
A wolf came through the front yard sometime middle of the day. Guessing the fawns days are numbered.
