I’m back in Ohio looking for a mature doe. Hopefully one comes out in this field edge I’m setup on. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I ended up seeing 6 bucks last night but no does. 35 degrees this morning with a south wind. Headed to a different stand this morning. Good luck if you’re out today. Happy New Year! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Team 5’s ridge runner just put a buck down that will move them into 2nd place. If you haven’t already taken a doe, now’s the time to put one in the freezer. I’m out here looking for one but I’ve only seen squirrels so far. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Christopher Jay did it again!!!! I've got one weekend left to procure my doe. I can't remember the last season I didn't get one to be honest. Usually I'm good for an early season freezer queen but I never pulled the trigger. One more chance this weekend. They are finally starting to move into the fields with a little predictability. I will be sitting a spot between two beddings. I'm really only hunting the south side bedding and hopefully trying to catch them crossing the creek to hit the snacks in the fields to the north. If any of us could add 50 pts that would be YUGE!
Good luck this weekend Gemini! I'm going out to get a doe tomorrow. I agree that it would be huge to get a few more 50 point does on board.
I've got a couple of days left in the season. Got out last week with the muzzleloader and the bow, didn't see much. My cams have gone really nocturnal right now. Hope we can put one more on the board. Gonna try to get out one more day Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
I backed out until morning. I don’t think she was much farther because she was making all kinds of turns. I’m pretty sure I got at least one lung.
Hell yeah!!! Good luck on recovery, blood looks like a dead deer! Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
I found my bolt. It’s shattered and the nock is missing. I must have hit her shoulder. I trailed her this morning for a total of at least 600 - 700 yards. I never found her but it was just specs at the end and she never did lay down. Not the ending I wanted but it happens.
That's to bad Dmax. We have all been there before and will probably be there again at some point in our hunting career. When they go that far with out laying down it's pretty good indicator that it's not going be a fatal shot.
Sitting a creek crossing. Very loud getting out here with the crunchy snow. Last chance romance for me.
