Sleds are the best, especially when you can pull them without burning calories

Yeah… whole house generator and wood burning stove as well as 2 deer in the freezer … doing ok… disappointed that I will be hunting the gun opener by myself tomorrow in 4 feet or more of snow behind the house… just hoping another idiot like me pushes something past me… good news is if they do, it won’t be able to run fast lol

I’ve never hunted opening day without my family… but they are all splitting up to hunt grounds that didn’t get walloped with snow but they can’t bring anyone to

Okay, I’ve just got to ask: If you have a quad why even bother with a sled???

Simple answer really. Drug this deer up without a sled and friction ruined the cape. Still have the skull cap waiting on a cape. Uphill the whole way so wasn't an easy strap to the back rack and go, deer.

Last deer I killed that my uncle was alive for.

Sled has always been the way to go since.

    I gotcha.

I figured out that if you cinch the antlers up close to the back rack the hindquarters are the only part that drags, although you may get a little exhaust on the deer.

Hardly worth wasting your time on.

    Those are some great bucks

I can’t help wondering how many of those came from the panhandle near Alabama. I never saw deer like that when I was in middle Florida.

Then again, I don’t see deer like that where I am now, so we have to take that into consideration.

Well I live in Port St Lucie. Now mind you, I haven't driven around much outside of here. When I have I've never saw a deer, dead or alive. My wife works on an ambulance, and with as much driving as she does, she's only seen 4 deer, and those were Axis deer. Thinking maybe they escaped from a preserve or something.

Opener gun ,dressed and getting ready to hit the narrow land. Guys lined up all along that 400' wide strip and I'll be in the middle as they walk in. Went down to check road line yesterday...had to come home for drill hammer and my tool box. Metal signs that I screwed to 1/2" plywood then screwed to trees.....magically laying on ground. They'll have to cut the trees down next time ...let the games begin...every freaking year....
Head to toe Orange. Today a flash light will be used seeing shots ring out way before even the legal half hour before Sun rise open.
    Stay safe guys...
