I've said this for years. Lawmakers aren't subject to the same laws that company executives are (planned sales require registration), Broker Dealers (monitored trades), nor others (insider trading). YET, they make the laws, 'hold court' to demonize industries, have open mic to say what they want, see spend of Trillions of dollars on an annual basis, have insight into areas the government are moving prior to the public -- and literally can trade how the want, with most federal legislators actually having greater wealth post there terms...

Oh and they get to vote themselves raises.

    Fox guarding the chicken coop...

looks like the Repub's are going to be having fun going thru Hunters dealings along with "the Big Guy" hope they go through this wrinkled old prune's books next. Saw Liz Cheney's net worth went from $7 mill to $44 mill (2017-2020), that's one hell of a pay rise

The death of Twitter would be a step forward for society. I hope Musk fails on this on.

Funny on a discussion forum if you say Ron is the future of the republican party, mouth breathing Trumpers will call you a liberal. Kinda funny Don is a former democrat and donated $. I have never donated or voted for a democrat and yet the mouth breathing incels call me liberal.

Interesting take, and I don't disagree on some points- but I don't know any real Conservatives who won't revel in the complete scorched earth dismantlement of the GOP. Josh Hawley being one such prominent voice.

All Republican voters with brainwave activity know how much the GOP hates real Conservatives. We already know how the GOP is completely content if not outright prefers to pretend to be the minority opposition. They get the money and personal power with none of the blame.

Trump/Gabbard has a really, really good shot as a 3rd party ticket. You're delusional if you don't think Tulsi is AT LEAST gunning for a Trump VP slot, if not outright dark horse independent 3rd party run. Throw Dave Smith in as a very popular Libertarian candidate, and you have yourself CHAOS in a general election.

All that said, as it stands today I still don't think DeSantis runs against Trump. Not yet. His kids are too young and his wife is just getting over cancer. I think they reach a truce where Trump runs at the top for one term, DeSantis in the wings as VP. As long as Trump is in the primary as a and the most 'Conservative' Republican, he beats DeSantis. Although it would be interesting if the GOP finds someone that in the primary runs to the RIGHT of Trump...the political consultant class is most likely too stupid to realize it, but Trump is vulnerable on his right flank. He failed to do a lot of the red meat things he promised (mostly because of Deep State and Senate GOP resistance.)

Desantis/Gabbard could be an interesting combo. It won’t happen, but I bet could unite more people than anything the democrats could come up with or any Trump ticket.

...wonder if DeSantis' wife would let that happen...they're both too hot. Hot chicks hate other hot chicks especially when they orbit around the same alpha male. There can be Only One.

As I write this I realize I am forgetting about Melania. Sorry Tulsi, nuh-uh.

a lot of the Ronnie/Donnie drama is NeverTrumpers/media baiting Trump and MAGA knowing they (especially Trump) will take the bait. The only thing that can really turn MAGA against Ronnie is Donnie. The Never Trumpers know that Donnie isn't disciplined enough to not (over) react. If Trump just ignored the noise, esp this early when Ronnie just won his Governor's race and isn't even close to announcing a Presidential run; MAGA wouldn't view Ronnie as a threat regardless of how much the media tried to gin up a fight.

With Trump's ego, if I were a betting man, I'd bet he would take the bait. Pence is going to run and we all know he has plenty of dirt on Trump. While I do not agree with Pence on everything, I do believe he sticks to his beliefs and is a good person. Meaning even if Pence does not like you, he'd be willing to help you regardless.
