Lady Forge, you're a beast! Awesome hunt for you. I'd never be graceful enough to stand and not spook it. How long did it take to drag him out? How is your husband's season going?
I was hiding in a really big deadfall with a huge tree and a bunch of brush and dead branches in front and beside me so I could move around alot and not be seen. Well the drag out was a total disaster. My husband and I couldn't do it we made it about 75 yards & the deer cart broke, so we zip tied it back together but the ties ended up breaking again. With my husband's cancer post surgery it's really taken a toll on him physically, he went from working out at the gym 5 days a week to only 1 day a week and some weeks not at all. He has lost alot of weight, strength, stamina and muscle mass and he gets dizzy alot. They also put him on hormones which cause a loss of muscle mass. Got to the point my husband said to me i cant do this so i told him if i cant find help i will just quarter out the deer but I made a phone call to a friend that lived close by and he came and helped us, he was a God sent angel !!!! My husband's season just got great he killed a doe this morning ... he hunts a university owned property next to the public land I hunt and they require him to kill a doe before he can kill a buck & it's archery only. So now he has the doe monkey off his back he is buck hunting now
Glad I saw this. If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have known you added the score. He’s been entered. Congratulations again!
That’s a great picture. Looks like your going to have a good time In Kansas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe that this is the first time I’ve seen someone post that they had a “scrap” near their stand where the word scrap actually applied.
Ended up going out yesterday evening after missing a 130in 8 point Saturday evening. Seen 2 nice bucks bumping 2 does. Just never came close enough for a shot. With this warm weather this week, I'll probably won't be out until Saturday or Sunday. My bow should be in tomorrow or Wednesday. Might get it all set up and sighted in and take it out this weekend. Just realized @WISCONSINBUCKHUNTER if you shoot a doe, you will make the 200 club! lol
Sounds good Justin! My new sight should be here tomorrow but I don’t think I will have time to mess with it before I take off for SD on Saturday. Looking forward to having a buck tag in my pocket. Forecast looks really cold. Alec needs to join the 200 club! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My adventure of sitting on the ground the other day - lead to me getting poison ivy. I didn't know you could get it in the cold months. Heck, I never got it before this year. But, alas, it was on my hand - and then I had an itch on my face....and apparently my arm....and now I itch everywhere.....lol I keep having buck (day light) activity in the morning. I think I am going to try and come into work later the rest of the week and hit the stand. My evening are screwed this week, as is my Saturday (stupid me signing up for a craft show - though I'm half tempted to just not go to it).
I never used to get anything besides shumak. Now I keep getting everything this year. Luckily, not to the extent of yours. But, my brother is just like that - if anyone happens to be burning it and he's in area, it sends him to ER.
I am not allergic to poison oak, poison Ivy or sumac ... but my youngest son is highly allergic, he also gets it airborne from burning it.
