I agree thats why im strongly considering. But its such a big paycut i may have to sell my house and move. Rates suck right now and are going to jump again from what i hear. Not a good time. So i also dont want to live paycheck to paycheck. Hard decision

We have a work BBQ today, so I brought 7lbs of deer steak. Gotta make some room in the freezer for this season...

Just checked the forecast for the opener on the 24th. High of 88, can't hunt the morning because my son has a football game. Looks like I will not be hunting opening weekend unless that drops before then. Not worth the risk of spoiled meat if I make a bad shot.

73/55 here on the 24th opener but I’ll be in Titusville Pa for the weekend.

8.3 acres came with the new house my wife and I bought and it almost butts up against my dads 118. I’ve hunted the surroundings properties for years. Big buck potential for sure. Dad killed a 203 a few yrs ago with numerous 140-170’s year after year on cams.

Between that and our leases, I’m not in a huge rush, they’ll show up like they do every year. Just haven’t had the time to run cams and actually know what we have running around. Older I get it seems the more I have going on and I have to play catch up during season.

Sounds like some prime ground over there. Is there any public worth traveling to ohio for?

    LOL

@Shocker99 there are 3 public areas around my area that I'm sure have big deer. I've never stepped foot in any of them though
Jessie Owens State Park, Woodbury Wildlife Area and Salt Fork State Park

I haven't hunted Ohio public since 2014. Way too crowded out there. I do find good sheds though...

drinking coffee and watching the deer cross behind the pond down here at the farm in southern illinois. Splitting wood this weekend and some last minute checks on stands for gun season.

How I spent my evening 20220917_192747.jpg
"Professional " wrestling with the kiddo. He had a blast though, and that's all that matters.

Went to the range yesterday afternoon for some pistol practice. I hit the 3D course after pistols to shoot longer than I can at home. At home I can shoot 40 yards. Shots are from 45 and 55.

That’s way better shot than mine. Those “professional wrestling “ is always a good time.

Sorry for the pics of a pic. I thought this camera was dead, but it was actually taking pics since last December. I have a tank showing up!
