Who do you think will put the first kill on the scorecard this year? Who will get the first buck? Who will get the first doe?
My guess will be anyone hunting Kentucky this year. I think my season starts on September 8 or 9th. I'm planning to hunt opening day and shoot what ever I'm on that day. I think you LC will probably be one of the first to strike. For it to be a doe or buck, that I'm not sure. Guess it depends on how much frustrating you have built up! I know there are a few seasons that start in August. I’ve hunted Kentucky for years and only once have I been in the first few. The only way it can be me is if the other guys strike out early.
The first buck over 130? If @Justin goes out west for a mule deer hunt on the 1st my money is on him.
Velvet hunt in August in Tenn would be my bet for first kill and buck. LC for first doe. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Will that be bow, crossbow or gun? I'm aiming before dawn( we have that half hour now) with compound....though shoulder in last shoot was whining at me.. Aaaahhhh wont count for anyone but me this year....lol
I'll be mule deer hunting on 9/1 so there's a pretty good chance something dies before the week is over. I'm going with the infamous @Rick James and he's up to bat first, so we'll see how it goes. Going to be a good time!
You guys have until the 3rd. That’s when the Kentucky season opens. @Lastoneout , myself and a few others will be in the game then.
NC opens the 9/10. I'm sure I'll sweat 4 gallons and go home empty handed, but then again, I know the pattern on one property. Maybe the weather will be good. I actually hope somebody is lucky enough to bag one before then.
I am working in NM through end of the month, less than 40 miles from the AZ border right now... AZ starts Aug 19, and OTC tag and base license cost me less than $200 - valid for both mulies and Couse. ...I didn't bring my freaking bow. I am an idiot.
I would say have your wife pack up your bow and ship it but when I think about it there I no way I’d let my wife pack and ship my bow.
yeah unless I got lucky and ran into one, no way is Mrs. Noodles going to find out I am hunting out here, I'd never hear the end of it during late October/November. Plus to get it here in time would prob cost me more than--------> there's a Cabelas about an hour east of me right now - seriously thinking of heading over and buying a 'budget' bow off the shelf. Could leave it at my buddy's in WI, that way it's always there as my backup and I don't have to lug 2 cases with me every time I go up.
