Midway always seems to have Underwood in stock. They're some spicy loads.

I may have to swing into the Springfield store in Sept, when I pass through for my elk hunt. Local BPS hasn't had any in stock for a couple years...and just about all their ammo is now behind the counter.

I’m the same way, so I almost never buy new hunting clothing. The zipper on my ASAT 3D suit broke years ago. It also has a couple of rips in it but I can’t find another so I use black safety pins to “zip” it up.

If I can ever find a decent fleece suit in Mossy Oak Treestand, though, I’ll snatch that up. I absolutely LOVE that pattern for late season.

Yes they are. When I shoot them I’m always glad my Sig P220 Hunter is a heavy pistol.

Focusing on just my Labor Day hunt for now as I didn't have any warm weather gear really (outside of a few short sleeves, etc). Invested in First Lite Wick LS, First Lite boxer briefs for every day use/hunting, and ScentLok Savanna AERO Attack V2 1/4 Zip.

Very excited to have a high end Merino wool top/bottom. Will likely look to invest in some warmer layers in the near future.

I'm right there with you on the Merino wool layers. I have different weight wool layers. If it's really cold I put them all on and I don't have to worry too much about the outer layers.

For the early season I'm very cheap. My ASAT 3D suit didn't cost that much but it's falling apart now. Under that I wear camo pants and a camo t-shirt. No fancy sweat wicking or scent control garments. Just plain old cotton. If it doesn't cool down by September I may try wearing the ASAT suit over just my skivvies in an effort to stay cool.

I've been shooting both bows a little and I have to admit I'm pretty rusty. I'd practice more but it's so stinking hot. We've got some cooler weather headed in soon and I'm looking forward to that.

Same here. I've always been shaky in my hands so it really doesn't help when I'm trying to shoot a bow.

Scouted a couple spots today. One was a complete bummer and was posted no hunting even after the state map showed it open. Then went and scouted a smaller 30 acre piece high on a hill. Caves and one hell of a climb to the top. Deer obviously use it but I wasnt impressed. Some beautiful terrain about an hour west of St Louis. Then Fished for 20min before heading home. Caught my first drum! Fought so hard. 20220727_192826.jpg 20220727_192814.jpg 20220727_131147.jpg

I've been shooting the last half hour before sunset. In VT it cools off pretty good by then, 70"s at least. Shot today from 40, 30, 25 and 20, spot on. Gonna be time to shoot from stand soon, just to practice.

I'm in town and have a decent size backyard, but don't have a big backstop outside of my house/small shed. Very hard for me to get passed 20 yards so that's all I've been shooting so far.

Not sure about your local regs, plot configuration, neighbor cool-ness or traffic...but if I shoot down the edge of my property ( from front yard to backyard) standing in our cul de sac. I have a decent sized backstop, but also have a safe shooting angle (a few hundred yards of woods behind the stop)...this setup gives me 30 yards additional than my prior range.

I just shot the V3 and the Heli-m. I shot the V3 for about 20 minutes. Below is the last group of 9 arrows I shot on a 20/30/40/50/60/70/60/50/40 walk out and back. It was the best grouping so I decided to quit.

I’m pretty shaky and need to practice quite a bit.

I shot the Heli-m afterwards and I did so badly I didn’t want photographic evidence.
