My concern would be proximity to the Mississippi, that "creek" snakes through a good deal of the property, when the river is up all the tributaries get backed up as well. I would assume it is flood prone, a wet Fall could ruin it for an entire season. Likely why it is so low per acre, along with accessibility.

Also, land prices are way better in MO, but the best prices also have their own problems. Access or utility, you can get acreage there for cheap, have a few friends that own land there, one is for hunting the other is recreation, one right on a float river.

What are the water way rights in that state. It's pretty for sure, but beside flood insurance issues having easy access through the middle of your land by Antoine with a water craft could end up a real PITA.

Not sure on all of them, but pretty sure waterways that are free flowing are public and possibly a distance on each bank.

Found it on mapquest and it's more north south flowing than directly to or from the Mississippi, but see no real utility or other easement access. Would be a long float either way.

Heck yeah! Lets get this going...as soon as the heat index falls under 105. It's been miserable in my area, I have not gotten anything done, that goes for stuff I need to do around the house. Oh well, with my super expert skills, I'll be 300 points in no time.

Been dry here, I think tonight this was the first rain a few weeks. Had a couple browsing the fruit trees next to the house.

Gonna be a weird one for me. I'll be between 2 states since I'm moving. I guess I'll have to do a dual residence and have no idea how that works for licenses. Already renewed MO tags and my house won't go on market till next spring. Probably hunting both states with private access in both NC and MO. (Don't hate). To me that just adds complications to my ADD mind. I'll definitely plan my annual public land adventure, hosted by none other than the killer himself, LC, regardless. Maybe I'll actually connect this time. One not so weird thing is gonna be this thread!

I’m still trying to get motivated, get out of the recliner and hang some cameras.

Unfortunately with so much going on in the background my pictures are always blurry on the Reveal.

I was able to get out yesterday and hang 2 stands and put out a couple of cameras. Probably won't check them for about 3 weeks or so. Saw a couple nice bucks while I was out yesterday evening. Hard to truly tell cause velvet is so tricky sometimes but one looked like he had a lot of mass and wide. Hoping to catch him on camera.

On the bright side, whether you moved or not, you now have the ability to hunt on Sunday in your home state.

I have my work cut out for me this fall. I've used a decent mapping app for my phone for a long time. However I could see it needs improvements and wanted to reach out to those of you who us OnX. I don't mind paying $30 a year for a tool that will help me stay inside the lines on public land, especially the Mark Twain NF. Lots of twists and turns in there and I want to be legal with everything I do.

So, is OnX versatile enough to deal with public lands that mix in and out of private lands over large areas of land? Thanks

Was trimming lanes and putting more cams out at the farm, hear something behind me and had a fawn sneak in to 5 yds at the mineral site. Didn’t have a care in the world, was a cool encounter.

I think so. To me its the best app ive ever used. Also my most used app I have. Not sure how cell service will be, but you can also save the maps offline and run your phone in airplane mode with no service.
