Went camping and fishing for Father’s Day weekend. This morning it started snowing and we ended up with 3 inches. We were at 8600 feet. We only caught a few fish the wind was really bad this weekend
Wow Oldcarp what a change! Most of the country is hot, 95 here. Some of the kids and grandkids made it to the farm. My newest hunting vehicle is getting broken in by the grandkids. They're already bugging parents to get them one. I'll be sneaking into my stands like LC this fall.
I see more and more of those E bikes out west here. My son has one and depending on the trail he uses it here in there. You need to get a picture if you riding it during the hunt.
I really like it, my town road has little traffic, makes it nice to ride here. Some of my fields and food plots are a mile away. Nice days I take the e bike instead of truck or atv if I want to check on them.
A week ago today I got a text from my nephew in Mountain Home, AR asking if I could help him with some carpenter work. He and his wife rented what used to be a restaurant to use as a store for their business and he said he needed to put in shelves, a counter and an office. I got there on Thursday and looked at his “plans”. Here they are: They wanted the counters/shelves to be 15 feet long, the counters 42” tall and the shelves 5 1/2 feet tall sitting on the back counter for a total height of 9 feet. Also, it has to be done as cheaply as possible, but they also wanted an “old country store” look. I made my suggestions which included using 2x6 lumber for the counter tops and using curtains instead of cabinet doors on the back counter. We bought the lumber that first day and I started working the next morning. I finished at 1:30 today and headed home. He still has to put the old corrugated metal roof on his “chicken coop” office, paint the siding on the counter and office, stain the wood and install the curtains. The siding on the front of the counter was recycled from what came off the walls in an effort to save money. The shelves were built in 45” units and attached to each other after we put them on the counter. We anchored them to the wall and then I milled the face trim, put it on and rounded the edges with a router. That was a messy job.

The baskets threw me off...but I'm going to declare some kind of farm fresh bakery or food type store...maybe the back racks are for jams/pies and such??? Excellently done Littlechief....I'm attempting to build my wife a custom desk for her office and now I feel like buying the lower cabinets already made is cheating after seeing your handy work LOL Good stuff!
My nephew’s wife Sally makes all sorts of artisan jellies, jams, preserves, pickles and the like. She also makes specialty soaps. She’s actually been in business for a few years now but she’s been working out of her house while selling her products at Farmer’s Markets and also online. She makes a ghost pepper jelly that is awesome. I haven’t tried her Carolina Reaper jelly yet. The name of their business is Farmer Little’s This ‘Nat. The website is farmerlittle.com. I would assume the baskets would be for soaps and that sort of thing. @farmer rick - The “chicken coop” office was just a silly idea my nephew had since they also sell farm fresh eggs.
I stinking NAILED that then! OOOOOOOOOOOOOO ghost pepper jelly is seriously one of my favorite things a local amish lady makes. I just put five different jellies in my cart LOL

Hey guys! It looks like everyone is staying plenty busy so far this summer, as am I. I’ve been in and out of the page a little bit but wanted to stop in, hopefully everyone is happy and healthy! I’ve been back and forth between home and upstate New York, Plattsburgh, which is right on Lake Champlain for work the last 5 or 6 weeks. I’m not a fan of New York but I’ll be the first to say that this area is absolutely beautiful country. Besides yard work when I have some time the only time I’ve spent outdoors so far is one turkey hunt and a handful of mushroom hunts earlier this spring. I believe that I’m now home for good until I have to install my next machine which is looking like March time frame of next year. I did breakdown and purchase a new truck so in the next few weeks I’m going to kill 2 birds with one stone and go around to let my property owners that they’ll be seeing a new truck pull in this fall. When I do that I’m going to check stands/change straps and put out a few cameras, I might even knock on a few doors to try to gain access to another property or two. For most of us we’re only 2-3 months out from stand time and string music! The time is now to start shooting, I’m even going to take my own advice and sling some arrows this evening with my boys!
