LC, That is very impressive. You have a great talent there. That deck looks fantastic.
I started getting sick Friday afternoon. Went into the doctor yesterday morning and I got the Covid. We were supposed to fly out to Oregon today. So we changed our flights to the end of the month. I am lucky I am not deathly sick. I just feel miserable.

I look at all you guys with all the talent you guys have. I’m very impressed with you all. Besides irritating my beautiful great wife. For some reason who puts up with me. And five great kids and a bunch of grandchildren Who I love to death. I do not have many talents.
I really think when they were handing out talents in heaven I was fishing that day;)

Man, I’m sorry you have COVID. I hope you are feeling better soon.

As to the talent part, I usually tell my friends it’s not really talent, it’s just a little artistic ability coupled with a touch of OCD.

Impressive work, Chief. Should have had you come help when I did my deck, if anything, I could have drank cold beer per SOP.

    Back to important matters...me.
I know I've been vacant but I still try to keep up with the forum, but, it's motorcycle/pool season so I've been tied up doing spring/summer work and coaching baseball. Baseball is over, our last game got rained out and no re-schedule, so we never really got to see the kids off. It's odd, I was never a kid person until I had my own and started coaching, as frustrating as it can be, it's awesome to see success throughout the season.

I may get out this weekend to put up some sticks and half-ass scout, the season will be upon us in no time and the humidity has not fully set in, so it's time to get some good prep work done. Not sure what the farmer is going to do this year with all the prices skyrocketing, I'm hoping he changes back to corn, but as usual, it'll probably be beans again; either way, free food plot.

I'll leave it there for now, don't want to make it too long.

Thanks Steve. It’s good to hear from you.

Are you still thinking about coming back up to hunt Mark Twain this year?

I believe I will! I know the process so I can be better prepared this year, I'd like to maybe spend 1 more day than I did last year, but we will see how everything pans out. Even though it's around a 4 hour drive, it's a pretty easy drive plus the license is super cheap.
I've had one spot on my mind since last year, I'm really anxious to hunt it, I'd say I have some unfinished business with your woods.

Right in this area, I snuck off and walked a little of it last time, I’d put $5 it’d be successful.

Hate to hear you have Covid. My second round was just like a bad cold and only lasted a few days and bounced back from it better than before. I hope you have a mild case and get back to business soon!!

Yeah, the north edge of that cut-over should be good. It’ll be a good hike in and a long drag out though.

Thanks everyone. I’m doing pretty good today. For me it’s was like A medium case of the flu. The hardest part for me is the grandkids weren’t able to come over.
Farmer Rick, thanks. I don’t know if it’s a talent. I just happen to live in an area with a lot of different features and terrain. Thanks for the thought.

Well you guys I’m in a quandary here. I did not draw deer tag in Kansas or in my home state. I will find out next week if I drew a antelope tag in Wyoming. I will always buy my OTC Elk tag here at home.

That is bad news. I know you’re a long way from here, but you’re welcome to come and hunt with me for a week or two here in Missouri.

Thanks LC, your a good man.
I have Family checking into things. I guess there is 87 acres that is still in the family. That is a far cry from the original 800 acres. On that 87 acres we do have two stands on it. So things aren’t quite as bleak as I originally thought. My wife loves going out there to visit family so it’s sort of a win-win for me. I will keep you guys posted.

Maybe come to Wis. cheap tags, lots of deer on my farm and couple extra rooms with the kids gone.
We do have some decent bucks once in awhile. 2015871-86ef644a23380f65e3fc81ba8d4eaee7.jpg

    Am I invited too?

Seriously, though, with gas prices the way they are and with no relief in sight I may be dropping Kentucky and Arkansas this year. I sure don’t need to be making 10 hour hunting drives.

Sure but I might have to set on a limit on how many deer you shoot.

I edited my post to let you know I was joking but you were too fast for me.

If things don’t change I don’t need to pay for a long road trip this year and like I said, I may only be hunting one state this season. We will see.

Still, I think the number of deer I kill in Kentucky is why no-one invites me to hunt. They think I have no self control and I’ll kill all their deer.

Thanks Farmer Rick. I have been to Iowa and Illinois but I never went north to Wisconsin. Thank you for the invite.
I usually go fishing twice a week but I only go once a week now because of gas prices.
