They stopped it before I was born, when it was erradicated. Then the anti-vaxxers(pre covid) tried to bring it back. Notice how you don't hear much on those anti-vaxxers but I bet they are yelling loudest against those not getting the covid jabs.

Fwiw - The US military brought smallpox vaccines back circa 2002...as preparedness against bio warfare/attack... Vaccinations were suspended late 1970s when WHO declared (naturally occurring) smallpox eradicated.

I didn't research it, just knew I didn't/still haven't received it with my childhood immunizations.

And here we go..... via CNN. Who's high risk? Turns out it is much like AIDS nack in the 80's. Transmission mainly through same gender/sex sex.

However, the biggest difference now is gender/sex is inconclusive and left for individuals to decide so everyone is at risk with this one......

P.S., has nothing to do with monkeys...

P.S.S., fear of this virus/disease will ultimately lead to bigotry and racism....

Why is the are the people paying taxes to a government that is protecting people who consciously choose to engage in "high risk" behavior? We need less warning labels and more rewards for living responsibly, not stupidly.

Day 4: i seem to be on the mend. Fever is gone. I slept well last night. The cough though is still an issue. Cough drops, cough medicine, or cough syrup, nothing works. May sound strange but humming a tune as I breath seems to keep me from coughing. I have to say some of the tunes I am humming on every exhale are getting pretty annoying. Like those tunes you hear once in the morning and you can’t get them out of your head all day. I guess it beats coughing all day though.

Hopefully the worst is over and I mend well. Stay healthy everyone!

Just got a text from my sister. She and her husband got it. Was just out to see them on Saturday.

Guess I will know in the next day or 2 if I got it.

Hope you don’t get it. I feel my case is pretty mild but still no fun. Don’t want anyone to have to go through it..

I am especially tired of the Frito Bandito song. Do you know that jingle from years ago. Hum it to yourself once or twice. Then in a couple hours you will know how irritating it is after 200 times.

I just don’t want to suffer here alone.

Here you go. Eat your own medicine. Glad I am too young to know the song and smart enough to pause the video after four seconds.

Be wary of relapse. Very common to be feeling almost 100٪ through it 48-72hrs after symptoms first present, then next day bam fever is back and you're on your butt. Take it easy for two or three days at least to make sure you're through
