I have to admit..it really was. Only 6" but it was what I call igloo snow. Heavy , packing with a layer of ice. It's crazy my arms don't hurt but holy Hanna! My glutes are screaming at me! My hands hurt too

One thing that I have done in conjunction with therapy is stretching, it seems to really help and you can get it done in 15 minutes.

We got into the low 40's and little wind yesterday afternoon. A.J. and I did our 3 mile walk/hike. What a beautiful afternoon....Then woke to teens and a new 5 inches of snow. Great Sun though.

60mg of prednisone had me running wind sprints through a wooded trail yesterday. The soccer parents were mortified to see a 47 yr old berserker charging along in the woodline.

The only time I was on the stuff was after I stepped on a yellow jacket nest. Got stung 8 times. I was awake for almost 48 hours straight. I told my wife that it was the worst possible timing for her bye-week.

A.J. and I took our 3 mile walk/hike again yesterday. I'm slowly building to our daily 5 mile we were at last year. I then want to add another 2 to that by mid summer. When I was young I would walk the rail bed from Piffard to Avon and back or to Mt Morris NY. Both are 20 mile round trip. When not working or at school my hobby was walking. My mom never got her drivers licence so we walked everywhere and that woman loved to hike the hills around Dansville taking me at a very young age.
Though with all this walking again ...Not losing weight gained a couple...Hhhmmmm.

Maybe while in a long fast I shouldn't have taken the 3 mile trek yesterday morning. Though I woke up stiff and really sore feeling better. Showered dressed and waiting to leave for hospital. Let's hope this goes way better than later time. Good news in last 3 days I've lost 8 #'s. Yesterday 70, today 34 and rain

Well by your description I now know what you had to have, you never want to ask a lady about what's going on! Glad it went well for you, and I'm pretty sure you won't be too interested in any pics!

Planning my next stretch of the AT... With a son in school in Atlanta, we're planning to do the Georgia stretch this year... ~68 miles over a 3.5 day period.

God willing, we will continue on the NC stretches next year and at current pacing ~65-70mile he's should wrap NC in 2 trips.

Fwiw - I use these trips to enjoy time with a couple of my sons and as a shake down to gauge my preparation and some gear (for potenial replace /upgrade), for hunting trips out west.

A couple of more years, and I plan on doing backpack trips like that with my boys. I started doing it with my dad when I was 12.

45 minutes of step ups today with a 25lb pack.

At this point even your youngster is probably good for an overnighter in the backyard or maybe elsewhere paired with some fishing and a couple meals (like dinner & breakfast)

We tent camp in state parks at least one time per year. Just haven't added the hike and more rustic style of camping yet. My oldest was six months his first time sleeping in a tent.
