That weekend is no Bueno for me, dangit. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I've been on stand for about 30min. Bumped two about 100yds from here on the way in. They just walked away. I see a deer now about 80yds away. Deer have been in here since this morning's snow. Somethings going to die this weekend!
Well, I looked at the date wrong. I actually could possibly make that happen. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That is a good possibility especially in the E and SE part of the state, more agriculture out there and better nutrition. The east side tends to be where the bigger bucks come from. Bucks i. East Arkansas usually hold until March if they are in good health.
Had 6 Doe at 60-70yds, but they all did an about face. The wind was not good for me in that direction I assume that was the issue.
I'm out. Only 10 degrees this AM. Saw 2 other Doe that were bedded 45yds from the stand. Saw them get up, shake off and groom each other before they walked off. Freaking cold out.
I’m up for the evening. It’s cold, sunny and bluebird skies. I had to come out and soak up another sit, seasons almost over.
I’m set up in Arkansas again. The wind is out of the NE which is wrong for the tree I was in last time. I moved 70 yards SW and found a double tree to get in. It’s 10 yards from the trail the bucks walked last time I was here. I wanted to get a little farther away but this was the only tree in bow range. It’s not the easiest tree. The lowest I can get the platform of my Viper is 4 1/2 feet. It’s not too difficult to get in the stand but it’s not as easy as it was 10 years ago. Im not sure if you can see how tore up this crossing is but they are using it heavily.
I can tell you that most of the bucks here still have their antlers. I’m the only one who has seen a shed buck.
Couldn't type, was too cold. Saw one unknown 30yds to my left, but no shooting lane that way. This cold snap and the moon overhead in the mornings has them bedded up. Gonna try some mid day tomorrow 10-2, warm up, then head out for the afternoon. Supposed to be 5 degrees tonight here.
I was out tonight also. Just to cold to type. Got in 4 hours on stand and 2 hours of scouting before. Good day. I jumped 6 does as I was walking in on 2nd property of the day. I did a 100 yard circle around the direction they went and setup. About a hour before dark had a doe feeding thru the woods. She got to 20 yards and I decided to shoot her. I wanted to double check with binos that it wasn't a button buck. She busted me when I went to grab the binos. Then 15 minutes before dark I had a deer come straight to me, then turn at 25 yards and feed in the same spot as doe. Never offered a shot. Stayed there til after dark.
