It’s pretty cold this morning and I have a big problem. The USB plug on my Scentlok Reactor heated vest broke while I was climbing up.

It’s gonna be a chilly sit.

I LOVE deer hunting. That being said, I feel a little relief when it closes in Michigan. Our season is 3 months long. By the end of it, I am TIRED. Tired of doing the extra laundry, tired of changing in the cold temps outside, and mentally worn down. I miss the days of October and November when I am more likely to see a buck out searching or chasing. Our December around here was "warm". Normally I see lots of deer coming out to feed in the bitter cold and snow - we never had that this year. I have already begun planning for next year; new tree stand locations, trying to grow some food plot after wheat & soy beans are picked and corn is chopped in September, and looking for rubs this winter. I saw a lot of little bucks this year. It gives me hope for next year. While I am tired now, I look forward to Opening Day!

About an hour ago I had a buck walk by at 15 yards.

At first I thought it was a big doe but when it got close I could see the pedicles. I’m still not sure if he was broke off or if he had already shed.

It’s awfully early here for the bucks to be shedding but it’s possible.

I’m back up for the afternoon sit.

I’m disappointed in the movement here so far, but I’m going to sit this evening and tomorrow morning to give it a chance.

Im got up about 3pm. Very iffy wind for this spot. Id say my scent cone is about 20% where it shouldnt be. Im hoping the deer arent in the clover where my scent is going. Im set for the corn. After a single digit freeze im hoping they just come to it. I normally dont do this but hey, this may be one of my last sits here this season. Time for a high risk roll of the dice. :tu:

All i have to say is WOW! What an amazing hunt. Im glad i didnt hunt the tree i was going to on the clover cause i would have had a chip shot at some smaller deer that i would have taken. I would have missed the 2 beasts that came in right at dark. They chased a group of does up into the clover. Two very mature bucks. Ill be back there on monday. Wind looks good and i have a sweet setup. Saw about 14 deer in all i think

I thought for sure they would hit the corn over the clover. Nope.
