    I'm out. 1 hour n 1 fawn.
Cut maybe 30 sets of tracks in the fresh snow and they were all heading into bedding area in the dark.
    One of those mornings.

I agree. Same here. I don’t think the Drury DeerCast takes moon phase into account.

My hunting spots are mostly exactly the same. Deer can show up from any direction so any wind direction can work really. Wind can frequently switch directions for several seconds and then go back to the "main" direction it was blowing. Last Sunday in my climber spot it was blowing south, which is my preference, but several times it swapped almost 180° and would blow north for half a minute or so. There basically isn't a wind direction that will lead me to not sit a stand. Hunting timber in the "mountains" does not yield the whole bed here specifically, travel here specifically, and feed here specifically things like ag areas get.
I shower in unscented, wash my clothing in unscented, spray down with scent killer, and hunt and hope they come from the right direction that day. I do now have a small ozone unit that I treat my clothing with before every hunt too, I think it helps. I had a doe and yearling this year come through and end up straight downwind from me. Normally these leads to blowing and then running away pretty fast. Instead, they went on alert and did quite a bit of foot stomping but hung around much longer than I'm used to seeing before deciding to wander off. Never did blow or full-on spook.

Four hours on stand and all I’ve seen so far is one rabbit and a lot of squirrels.

    Three more hours to go.

I hunt in the bottoms with a lot ofnridges and tree lines. Even sustained winds swirl every direction. Sometimes it seems it switches on a deer sighting. Wind blowing in my face, deer steps out upwind, wind starts blowing to my back. Deers nose raises, my chance ends

Got a lady friend coming today.
She's hunted quite a bit this year and has hardly seen a deer.
Told her to come sit on the deck and whack a doe in the foodplot (pumpkins). I have too many deer here.
    He view for this evening.

This is where I heard that lone deer come through 2 nights ago. 75 yds closer. If it comes in again I still might not get a shot bc of shooting light. Sawed my way into a tree with cover. Not many left.

I'm down. A little over 7 hours of sitting and saw nothing but small game.

I pulled one of my stands and I'm going to try a new spot this evening.

I couldn't imagine you in your 20s and 30s LC. People at work prob had to slip something in your drink to stop you from working 15 hr days. Ha!

You should share a deer camp with @LittleChief. He works harder helping other people than he does for himself.

Just got off work. Loading up for a quick blast to my archery elk hunting area for a solo hunt until dark. Late muzzleloader for cow or spike. .54 cal patched RB driven by 80 grains of Goex 3f, hoping to make a cloud of smoke today.

In my 20’s and 30’s I put in more 12-16 hour days on a ship than I could count.

One of my friends in our hunting club describes me as “very goal oriented”.

I hunted him 4 years before it came together and the nite Trump got elected:cool:
I have one pic when he was 6 years old.and one of the very few I ever got during daylight in 4 years when he was a 7year old
Good luck VS. I'll be going in soon.
