Well I did set dark to dark today. 6 bucks and 12 does total. Saw the biggest buck I’ve ever seen on the hoof today. Not including another really nice buck I woulda shot, I’ve got trail cam pics of the descent one, but not the really big one. Doe management and passing young bucks seems to really be improving the quality of my hunts the past 3 years. Now a problem I’m having is dogs. The property they’re coming from is where most of my deer traffic comes from, and I know that’s where the majority of the bedding is. That property has never been hunted since I’ve been hunting here for 5 or 6 years. I pulled a card on the way out tonight (which I rarely do during season for scent reasons) because a truck drove right up the mountain by my stand at 90 yards tonight. Well the trail cam shows that whoever is up there, is the ppl that own the dogs that cost me a very big buck this morning. Their dogs are running deer alot on my side. In the past I’ve gotten permission from the landowner that owns the side that they’re on to track deer and such. Hopefully I can go get this resolved tomorrow afternoon. I’ve never seen these ppl before. So I’m worried abt them stealing my treestands and cameras. I know that sounds bad to judge someone thinking they’ll steal, but I can’t help but worry. Nice shot Slugger. Was a good day for kills here. Deer were pouring out today. From 3 to 4 o'clock I was smothered in deer! Only seen 3 bucks (non big) but I'm guessing about 30 does n fawn. 2 bucks and 14_15 does came downwind and although some somewhat "caught" me, non blew or even ran. A couple gave me the "foot stomp". They looked up, seen me but after time, they just went on. That's one thing I pride myself on is going in and not spooking does. Sucks getting dressed outside in the cold and my skin looks like a lizard (baking soda) but it works! 20+ deer under 25 yards and not one spook. Sat over 4 hours. Probably a record for me? Kinda befuddled nothing decent was seen though? Overall a great sit.
