My hunt was not a total waste this morning. I found this rub on this tree that’s close to 20”. I also found a 2” c clamp on my walk out. Grabbing lunch now and will be back out by 130. 4C0E8FC2-69A6-4C75-94A5-4EC99DA75C1C.jpeg

It's such a beautiful day here in Virginia. I can't wait to get in a tree here in about an hour

Eerily quiet gun opener here in SW Michigan. Saw a little buck and later a doe - both before 10. Heard only 5 or 6 gun shots. No shots after 11. Hoping the slow morning results in an active afternoon. Lovely day. Cloudy with a sw wind under 10mph. 4.5 hours remain!

    Enjoy it.

I'm up. 50 degrees with 8 to 10mph wind. Beautiful. I got a taste of 2 days or work this past weekend. Even if I dont see a deer today I ain't working.

Watched a show on Netflix called catching killers last night. Put me into the Jason Vorhees mood.

I’m up in the stand. Bumped a doe that was bedded by herself. She was in a really thick patch of brush. Never seen a deer bed there all the years I’ve been hunting here. Maybe she’s hiding from the young bucks that I have been seeing harassing does? Idk she didn’t blow so I’m happy

Just saw a fawn browsing in the woods. First deer since 10ish. Hoping for better movement in pm shift.

I've been MIA here on the LFTS thread for a few days now. I was still hunting but I was pretty ill. Somehow I caught a respiratory bug and while the crappy feeling only lasted a couple of days my lungs are still congested.

Like I said in my team thread I think my lungs are synced with my Hunting Calendar app. Right when the deer are supposed to move my body decides it's time to expel more crap from my lungs. It cost me at least three possible shot opportunities that I know of, and there's no telling how many deer heard me before I saw them.

I'm back home now and I'll be getting back after it in a day or two.
