Decided to ground hunt on new ground. Good scrape line, fresh tracks and droppings. As good as anyplace else. Does were out and feeding along the ride over.

Just got settled in. On the ground by the bedding thicket. Had 4 does run across the opposite side of the field just as I sat down

Good luck PM shift. I started processing the deer I got on Friday. Got a few packages of steaks and roasts done before I ran out of vacuum seal bags and freezer paper. Have to head to the store for more. Everything but the ground meat should get done tonight.

I'm up! At property that I hunted Wednesday. The guy wants does shot off it, so here I am! Last Wednesday I had 5 come by at 30 yards, just to thick to shoot. I'm now setup about 50 yards up the creek farther where I saw alot of activity.

    Good luck my fellow bowhunters!

Well, for the first time ever I did a mid day sit... and it won't be my last!
Got in the stand at 12:01 nocked an arrow and do what I always do. Pull back to make sure everything is okay.
Within 1 minute,a forker came to a scrape.he worked then snapped his head toward the river(super thick), I could just see movement taking a river trail towards me. Grabbed
The bow not knowing . Couldn't tell untill it was about 15 yards and I said "holy crap" great big bugger!
I had to draw fast as he was just about to the small lane to shoot.
He stopped as perfect as could get but when I was just about full draw, my arrow fell of the string. It was loud and he stared straight at me.i held for as I could but had to let down. He wheeled and was gone.
I'm really pissed at myself as I know to always make sure my arrow is renocked once I pull back and let off with these nocturnalnocks. . They don't snap on my string real tight.
My own damn fault! He is a new buck, never seen him before.
160ish buck with 6"brows and a pig body!!
I sat till 230 and seen a few more bucks and 2 does but my feet were getting cold. The foot warmers didn't work.
So, back at the cabin pouting. Now I just heard a close shot across the river the way he went. Aarrgg.
