So far nothing here. Just a flock of ducks, and a flock of geese. So far.

Came to the realization I only have around 10 more days to get it done. Season closes on Jan 1st here. So it's definitely crunch time!

Congrats again, and that's one way to look at being on the phone. Often times that exact scenario happens and it is the phone that saved me.

I've seen bucks, or deer in general, at 70yds coming in. My only focus is on them, I am so ready and overly confident that I can do no wrong. Until I do wrong and that deer at 45yds goes on alert and ultimately skirts by or retreats the way it came.

There's times that being unaware allows that deer to continue about its normal course unimpeded. Until I see a deer exit the area after looking up from my phone, its never cost me an opportunity. Likely just the opposite most times.

Sounds like you're just in time, can't shoot anything in the dark anyway.

    Good luck!

Taking it easy this weekend. Planned to cut up my buck this morning and get it packaged and in the freezer. Well that plan went to crap. Went to pull the buck out of the fridge and my temp controller went out last night. The deer is a solid block of ice! Now I got to thaw it out and probably won't be ready til tomorrow. This sucks because wanted to try and get out hunting Sunday.

Good luck Jake! You got your 30 30 this morning? I use to have one and loved it.

Big buck just ran full board along upper hedge row...got to where I know camp has stand, reared up and spun 90° to head farther up hill. Unless someone shot a running buck with bow...he smelled, heard or saw something he didn't like. Dead run and there wasn't a doe in sight people are out moving I think.

Yes it is! I check it every day just for that reason, but because it went the other way, it only took a few hours to freeze solid. Just sucks because I planned that time with my limited schedule. This might turn into a late night now, ugh!

In a different zone that only allows shotguns and muzzleloader so I’ve got the smoke pole.

Nothing moving yet. Storm coming in this afternoon with 2-4” of snow expected. Hopes are high.

I let the weather man talk me out of getting out this morning. Called for rain this morning so I didn’t get up until 745. Guess I’m going to head into work for a couple hours to get some ot. Supposed to clear up around 4 I might get out for the last hour. Good luck everyone out there. Great story pastorjim.
