Honestly over the years we've never bothered to weigh our deer. I know he was too big for that hill/cliff for me to like LOL
Good deal! I will be hunting near Lyons/Hutchinson next week. I do food plot and land management work for an outfitter down there.
Well guys do you suppose we let the other teams think they can win long enough? Guess we might as well add some more points in the next coming weeks lol
I officially have the first week of November off and will be hunting as smart and often as possible that week. Last half of the week prior and after I also may take afternoons off (gave both bosses a heads up - wife and work).
Good luck to everyone hunting I'll be out shooting does when it cools off again. My buck scored 123 1/8 , weighted him 175 lbs. Quite a few years ago had one that weighed 200, swore this one dragged just as hard. Checked some cameras today and he left me a nice picture. Camera date is off couple days
I saw nothing tonight but my deer camera 1/4 mike away showed I was in the wrong stand Go figure !!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I took off the following days from work. 10/27- 11/3/, 11/11, 11/12, 11/15, 11/19 and 11/22-11/24. In it for the long haul. I told my boss if I get a slammer I might cancel a couple days.
Well going in after a buck I've been watching for 7 years (we believe him to be 8 years old based on camera pics). He has been showing up at night for the past three days now on a public land setup. I'm figuring him to be around the 180 class which is insane for northern wisconsin. Then on Sunday its off to Kansas to hopefully get it done and get some points for the good guys up on the board!
Last couple sits have been fairly slow. A couple smalls bucks and a doe with twins on Sunday evening, and then last night I saw 3 yearlings all with no does. It’s fairly warm today but I might sit an easy to get to stand close to home. Right after work today I’m heading to my main farm to hang a stand in “The Spot” it is a spot where I’ve wanted a stand the last few years but haven’t had the need to put it up, we’ll it’s happening today. I hope to be there at least one morning and one evening this weekend. I believe this is where it’s going to happen at some point this year if I hunt it correctly and don’t over pressure it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
My wife gave me her blessing to come hunt this afternoon. With a 2 year old and a 3 month old it has been difficult to get away and hunt. I'm on public land tonight, came and checked a few cameras but wasn't much on them. So I decided to set on an oak flat, I jumped a bedded doe coming in so hopefully some more will come by. Well ended up seeing a doe and button buck. He bedded down 20 yards from me for about an hour. Pretty cool to watch him, I've never had a deer do that before. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
I remember those days! My two boys are about 18 months apart and are now 7 and 5. Time flies so enjoy man! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I had all five of my children in six years. I should say my wife had them I realized back then that women are a lot tougher then men. Now all my children are in their 30s. I remember it seemed like we would never get out of diapers. Next thing I know I have 12 grandchildren that are the best thing ever Good luck on your next sit
Bodies all over the road on the way home. Deer moving pretty good tonight. I had to come to a complete stop for some. I pulled over to see if another person needed help her new vehicle was trashed. She said her parents and police were on the way so I left. It’s starting.
Hi guys. Sorry to be absent so much. My wife's mother and my mother both seem to be having a lot of health problems at the same time and it is taking a lot of our time. On top of that, my wife's mom is building a new house and we have been helping her with all of her packing and moving. Anyway, glad to see some of you having some success and getting out. My current situation is not good. The steroid treatments I took for Covid have caused cataracts to the point that I am unable to see out of my right eye well enough to shoot my bow. I am applying for a crossbow permit and I can use it well enough with the scope. So, my season is not lost completely, but certainly not what I was looking forward to. On a bright note, I have had some great bucks start showing up on cameras that last couple of days. I am heading to Ontario fishing for the next week and will pick up the crossbow for the rut and put some points on the board when I get back. My plots are looking great thanks to a lot of rain and a very late Fall. Best of luck to all of you still chasing bucks and stay safe. The best part of the season is almost here!
