Checked all of my cameras and moved 2 cell cams into rut territory and set one on video mode over a big scrape.

First cold front and things are heating up. Tons of rubs, not as many scrapes as I thought I’d find. All of my buddies are in the stand and had bucks moving early.

My BIG BIG bucks are gone, but I’ve got some dandy’s yet. I can hunt them technically during rifle season when we party hunt, but not sure I will or not.

I’ll post up some pics when I get a chance.

    Good luck everyone.

At the last min I had the same spike come by. I had to put binos on him to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me. I thought I saw horns but wasn't sure. Put binos up and sure enough same spike. He was only 18 yards.

Then I chose the wrong exit path. Bumped 2 or 3 deer. As I continued out they started blowing. Note to self keep ozonics on as I'm exiting.

Hey @LittleChief do you keep it (ozonics) on for the exit and or entrance?

Plan worked perfect! Right at dark I had a buck come out and walk past me at 10 yards! Then! I let it keep on walking. He was just a little 4 pt. He needed a couple more ice cream seasons before I start chasing him.

I am out, saw 4 does and fawns at last light. The wind must have swirled because one blew….

I did have a deer walk up on me in the dark while I was packing up. It just turned and ran. Not sure what it was.

What a great evening here in nw mn.
45* and the wind died down. Just felt GREAT to be in a tree again. 43 years of doing it and it still is awesome.
Had a great looking 3 year old 5x5 get to 5 yards before I seen him? He stood and just stared for a few minutes without even twitching. Then he turned and started beating up a small basswood tree. That was fun to watch. He could have added about 125_130 points for team 17 but.....
    Fun sit for sure:rock:

    No but kinda?
My bear spot is impassable now with all the rain we've got.
Hopefully sat/Sunday I can get there. It's about 4 miles back in.
Season ends Sunday. I've seen a tremendous amount of bear this season and passed up a few whoppers waiting for cooler temps. Finally got cool temps but with heavy rains.
Aint gonna be picky now. Anything over 200#s is going down.

Good luck, remember you saying you were going after bear not long ago, was curious as to the progress/result. You've had success guiding this year so am sure it has been a good year regardless.

Indeed cls. I do enjoy bear meat (my fav) but this season has been a blast helping others.
Damn kids n women shot bigger bear then I have and I've shot quite a lot. Fun year. No regrets at all.

Buck down for team 11 tonight. Had a great hunt and this buck was working a scrape when I shot him.

edit: can’t get the photo to show like it did in my team thread for some reason. Will keep trying.
