Hey guys, I am hunting in East Texas, and wanted to pick the brain of fellow Texan hunters. I know each area of Texas is vastly different ranging from the northern plains, to the hill country, to the east Texas piney woods, etc. I have been bow hunting for about 7 years now in East Texas. According the TPWD, our rut ranges from late October- December sometimes. I have tried rattling, grunting, & doe bleats with absolutely 0% success lol. Then again, maybe I just suck at it lol. When do you guys try calling techniques and how successful is it for you? Does it truly matter or make a difference in your opinion. Then again everything probably depends on your buck/doe ratio I imagine.
Curious, if the calling hasn't done anything for you, when do you typically get a sighting and kill while bow hunting?
