Got news from my brother. This buck is still around. He saw him one morning this past week, said he was HUGE!

First time hunting this oak flat. I should at least see something as many acorns as there are on the ground. 20211010_151937.jpg

When you put him down we will be able to see how big he is! Haha

Maybe third year hunting him is a charm.

Set up under a white oak that looked to be pretty hot. Broke out the Helo for my first hang and hunt. Got here at 3:45 and didn't get completely set up until 5:00. Didn't even have an arrow nocked yet, and had a doe come in to 13yds. Everything looked good, but unfortunately she walked out of frame at the shot. Sitting a little longer before I climb down.

Awesome. Hope you find the arrow dipped in red. Hard to tell in the pic. Good luck

I treat my feathers with a silicone spray and that end doesn't hold any blood.

Clean miss. I thought it was a heart shot but I guess it was low. Those strobing nocks mess with me compared to the solid ones. Oh well, I prefer a clean miss to a wound.

It's all a part of the game. If every shot was perfect it would get boring pretty quick...... Hell, who am I kidding, sucks about the miss. Redemption is the key.

    Keep after it.

18 days and I start my rutcation. Going to work a half day the 28th so I can get everything loaded up and double check everything without that 4 hour rush after work. Going to be a long 17 days and I want all the rest I can get

One of the joys of the stickbow... misses! It was the best sit I've had all season with 6 deer sightings and 1 miss.

Got required pictures for the contest. I probably won't be able to get a tape on him until Sunday. Should I go ahead and enter him with score pending?

I hunted behind my house this morning. Spooked a couple walking in the dark to my stand. Didn't see anything. Decided to hunt the thousand acres my son-in-law has leased for his cattle. Knowing he was pasturing the bottoms, I went to the backside of the farm. Hunted a ladder stand on a white oak flat on the top of the ridge. It was extremely warm and windy. I hadn't seen anything. Between 5:30 and 6:00 the wind calmed down and the woods got quite. I gave a couple soft grunts. About 10 minutes later I heard him coming out of the hollow. He feed along just out of range. I decided if he gave me a good shot I would take him. He turned and walked up onto the flat, stopping at 23 yards. He was slightly quartering away when I let the arrow fly. He made a mad dash over the ridge top then downhill.I was sure it was a good hit and was pretty sure I heard him crash. Found blood right away; not a great blood trail but not terribly difficult to follow either. Found him before dark but it was well after before I had him loaded. Mainframe 8 point with 2-3" sticker on his left antler, nice mass and bladed point on his right side.

you might want to post it with score pending just in case you accidentally delete the pics. Just make sure to add the complete socring breakdown later.
