Low 60's and, breezy, got in quiet. Had a doe with triplets go 5 yrds by one stand, 10 yrds past another then come down to give me a standing wide open 21 yrd shot....that I did not take. She produced 3 healthy fawn and looks to be on our place, solid pass for future fawns. In the mean time I'd been talking turkey with a flock of 17 roosted above the gully. Wow I have a different flock coming in from the top. I'm sitting in a giant double trunk beech, pouring nuts. Have a couple of hickory behind me. No deer in farmers hay. Great morning thus far.
Something caught me moving around and took off blowing about 20 yards away. Had no idea it was there. Threw out a couple fawn bleats
Wind is starting to pick up. I actually had to put my jacket on. I had it off due to my walk in to the stand. 2 miles with a jacket ain't no fun. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
If I don't drop something from the stand at least once, I don't feel like I've been hunting Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Rain starting. First strike of lightning I see and I'm heading out. Don't need to be a lightning rod. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
F'n squirrels are driving me nuts... Them little rats got my last nerve raw.. I hope a hawk comes in and runs them all back in thier holes!
When I get finished this morning I'm going to walk back to an area where there are some white oaks, I haven't been back there this year. If they are producing I'll probably hunt there thus evening...........that is if'n I don't kill this morning Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Slow start but action picked up at 8:20, 4 point, two 6 points and a small 8 came through. Acting pretty spooky the whole time.
No movement here besides some squirrels and birds. It is windy. I'm giving it till 930 then heading out. Have some stuff to do before the evening hunt. Curious to see what's on my camera at this spot. I'll be pulling that on my way out. Sent from my Z719DL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I haven’t seen anything here yet which is unusual. It’s usually a doe magnet area. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
