Nothing so far. Im around white oaks, tracks, and deer crap. Nice and overcast. Just need em to move.
I always try to get a few household projects done and spend more time with the family before the season starts to try to eliminate that feeling I usually have a big project in the works also for when the tags are filled. Gives the wife a little something to look forward to. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yes, we have 4 kids. My wife does not work but we homeschool our kids (have even before Covid) so she is home or around them most of the time. I let her do as much as she wants with friends and such but once hunting season comes along I feel guilty for hunting almost every Saturday. I work full time so try to do something’s to help out around the house during the week.

I don't feel guilty most of the time. I do a great deal for my family and have provided them with a great life. My life has value beyond what I provide and do for my family. I will be dead for a long time. I'm allowed to enjoy myself too. Memento Mori
Crazy fun hunt tonight. Did not end in a kill but here's a short version of the story. I'm about 2 miles into public land. I hear a loud pop in the distance. I thought maybe another hunter shot a crossbow. Nope a doe comes crashing flying into 30 yards. All of a sudden I hear non stop grunting. Decent buck hot on her tail. Grabbed the bow but never got him to stop long enough. Encounter lasted maybe 15 seconds. Then as I'm packing up it's starting to rain. I take off my facemask and start putting hear away. I look up and have 3 doe at 25 yards at most. Messed with them for a bit as they has seen me moving around and locked in on me. Well just one of them did. I tried to shoot one but they started moving back the same way they came. By the way this was my first hunt on this public pieces that is over 4k acres. Had 5 deer all within 40 yards. One to remember. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hell no, don't feel guilty one bit! Family life will be based on happiness. Do what YOU want to do. Win,lose, draw, you come home happy.
I’ve been watching this one too. He said “him” in his post above but in his team thread he said “doe #1 hopefully”.
