Nothing here yet. Just sitting here enjoying the breeze and the mosquitoes!

Our weather in Indiana has been pretty stagnant besides some rain. Temps are 75/50 everyday. I’m going out Saturday just to get a shot at a doe, but from my experience on the property I hunt, it doesn’t pick up until late October. My eagerness is high, but I’m playing the big bull card and walking down the hill this year.

It's been really hard for me to get fired up about sitting a stand in the heat and rain we have been having. I needs some 50 degree weather to get the kill vane throbbin!

I couldn’t agree more this warm weather is killing the deer hunting.

Just talked to the farmer who does the crops on my lease. Everything is out, all the farms around me are finished up too. Gotta get out soon. Deer will be relocating to my river bottom ground from all the surrounding corn fields and using the strip woods that I hunt :)

I think this time of year there is a significant food source shift, or the all dreaded “deer laying under an oak on its back catching in acorns in its mouth two steps from a creek” which is what happens where I hunt I’m pretty sure

Well then , where I've been sitting in the mornings I have been beaten and bruised from the beech nut and acorns that are dropping on my head. I still haven't seen any deer in the am.

    WTF

I'm on my 9th sit of the year today. Almost 80 degrees here, significantly warmer than it's been. I've seen deer every sit so far but haven't had any good shot opportunities. Made a jump to a creek bottom I haven't hunted in 2 years that's always had good buck sign. I try and stay out of spots like this till our early season ends since our first deer has to be antlerless for that. Hopefully they'll be up and moving in the cooler bottom tonight.

Had a ton of fun dragging her out lol. Little over a mile put of the swamp with a steady up hill. Recovery was easy but getting her out not so much. Surprised she went as far as she did. Little over 150 yards. Hard quartering away shot at 5 yards, arrow went in behind last rib, through both lungs and heart and exited to the left side of her sternum. I'll get her up in the scorecard thread shortly [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
