Could’ve let the air out of a bunch a does and a few spotted fawns but I was holding out for buck to come by…. He didn’t.

A guy on my team last year had a fall from his stand, we finished second or third last year, be careful 50 feet up.

Trust me, I always wear a harness and safety line from the moment I leave ground. I don’t wanna end up paralyzed.

I am seriously considering putting a hole in this obnoxious little spotted fawn. Every single time I sit in this stand it walks straight up to my tree and spends hours just chilling directly underneath me which forces me to be perfectly still and silent so he doesn’t blow me out. Last time I was here I threw a tennis ball sized walnut at him and hit him right on top of his head and he still stuck around. I even tried pissing on him and he didn’t so much as budge.

There was only one tree in that spot that was suitable for a stand and it is in a kind of depression on the side of a fairly steep slope. The deer usually walk along the top of the ridge line about 25 yds uphill from my tree. If I hung the stand at a normal 20-25 ft height I would be right at eye level with them and get busted every time.

I love a good tree stand cig. Just be careful, I accidentally touched my cable with the lit end a few years back and it caused my bow to explosively disassemble itself. New limbs aren’t cheap.

I gotcha. I guess I had one on the side of a hill one time that was damn near 40’ because of how steep the hill was. Killed a pretty good buck out of it too and several doe.

I know YouTube gets a lot of hate for whatever reason. Maybe it's a generational thing. I recorded my buck kill last year and my brother put together a pretty good video if anybody is interested. 150 + 11 point. It's a longer video (20 min) due to the 5 minute stare down I had with him but you can always skip through that. I honestly think you would enjoy it and I think he does a good job with the editing. Let me know if the link doesn't work. I'm also shamelessly suppose to tell you to subscribe so he keeps putting them out there. He doesn't make any money or anything like that.

You know the difference between falling from 50 ft versus falling from 20 ft. About one tenth of second LOL

GeminiRidge the does and fawns were really enjoying the west end of your fenced off food plot. Looks like it really turned out well.

Even though it was warm out this afternoon the deer were still moving as I was driving around checking out new properties that I may hunt this weekend.
