Feel like I have a solid plan for tomorrow evening. I’m going to set up along an over grown logging trail in between bedding area the clover field.

As long as the wind and weather cooperates I should have a decent encounter with some doe. Best laid plans...

I spent all day clear coating some counter tops and my pantry. Someone told me to use a foam roller with this lacquer (me being the idiot I am) I listened to them! Needless to say I have some “custom” non slip countertops thanks to all the bubbles that roller caused. Anyways, we’re not here to discuss countertops…. I’ll be headed to the lease pretty early in the morning to set out my blinds and check cameras. I’m hopeful that some bucks have moved in. I’ll post pics if I get something worth it. If anyone is hunting tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck!

    Shot a doe.

She picked me off but I had a few small bucks working around me so she settled back down some. One of the small bucks was harassing her a little and he pushed her over to me. She was 14 yards broadside and her head was behind some leaves so she didn’t see me draw. Took my time with the shoot. She ran 40 yards and fell over. I’m pretty happy considering I couldn’t do much with my right arm a few months ago let alone draw a bow.

    Congrats Dan!

I went and grabbed my camera card and made sure stand was good. Have to go back out once more to hang my harness rope. Cameras were pitiful. No shooter bucks since the 18th. A nice size doe, though around 8am a few days the past week.

But, I got a new hunting partner on my way out. I was in the woods and next thing I hear is "meow meow"....barn cat followed me out. D'oh.

My wife decided to come out to the lease today. I did a little trimming/pulled a few cards and moved a few cameras around.
Still have some work to do that’s for sure.

This buck is the only interesting one I have pictures of.

Good looking deer, hard to view the photos as pictures from your screen however. I had a great hunt this evening I had 7 doe in range and things got a bit harry when a nub buck and 4 does scared each other. Really sucked for me because the group of 4 doe jumped to the edge of my range on high alert trying to figure out what spooked them the nubby buck that was now directly under my stand. Light faded out as all the deer worked away from me. While taking down my set at least 2 more deer spoked off. I probably should have pushed into the marsh a bit further. I'll be heading to Indiana on Thursday for the opener on Friday. I've seen 18 doe and fawn this year and zero bucks. Hopefully that changes soon. Good Luck everyone.
