Joe, don't forget to post your deer pics and video on the scorecard with B&C antler scoring. How many inches is it? Did you get a weight?

I got none of it. I am going to have to ask the taxidermist to score it for me. We are on our way to Alabama. All our stuff was packed up. I could not score it. Once he gets back with me I will post it up.

The storms have finally passed so I'm headed out in the morning for this early doe hunt. I have until the 19th to get one. Hubby got a doe tag for home, he is signing over to me if I fill mine. That way I'll have a doe tag for regular archery season before Nov.1 . Very low winds out of E in the morning with clear skies. A day break hunt because I'm swamped will be carrying the cross bow due to having some hand issues. My arthritis is screaming thanks to all this wet weather but also cutting veggies nonstop. I want to be in good compound shape when regular bow opens Oct 1. So giving hands a rest. If I get a shot processing will be hard enough.
I use a ladder stand harness when practicing so my vest harness doesn't get stinky.. I got it out to hang out on porch and tried it on. Phewww I lucked out. With buckles at the very last possible placement for adjusting the harness just fits. If I loose much more weight there may be a problem. I'll definitely will be wearing a belt for what are now balloon pants but my new hunting shirts fit great. It's been raining nearly all day and all last night. I'm hoping the clear skies and low winds will have them out eating in the morning.

We get rains like that in April and may. Seems like it rains all day every day that time of year. I hope you get one in the morning. Nothing wrong with toting that crossbow around. I’ve always said whatever gets you out there works for me.

    Congratulations on a great buck!

On the issue of pics, didn’t we go through this last year?

If you have the video of the kill and recovery post those in the scorecard and you’ll be fine.

Pics of a hunter, bow and just a head aren’t going to work.

Well no hunt tonight...winds ,hubby on second shift, I hate schools. Then my work...which will have me up late. Good thing because son called me at dusk and said. I'm watching 25 deer in the farm field behind your back line in farmers field. They must be hitting those shell beans he's drying down. The beef farmer next to beans just cut his hay last week. So the deer weren't on the property anyways.
I have two options in the morning. They can come down toward the lane way plot to neighbors swamp or go along the end of ridge to oak bedding/feed . Oaks are dropping like crazy winds will be perfect for either. Flip of the coin I suppose...Here's to hope and a bit of luck

Lol. I think in The back of my mind I knew I got it on camera so I'm good but in the moment when it's 90 degrees outside and I get laser focused on hurrying as quickly as I can to clean the deer that I forget to put my bow on him and snap a few pictures. It's a me problem. Hopefully I'll fix it for the next one! :)
